Las Aquilas is 10/10 for the service and experience alone. Perfect for our pre-xmas relaxing stay. On check- in, You get a QR code which gives you a folder containing all the information you need about the restaurants and facilities. Would love to see the minibus timetable included in this too. We stayed in a premium room, 519. It was spacious and spotless, with great views over the pool and out to sea. Rooms could do with an upgrade but I would stay here again for the comfort I felt here and the cleanliness. The kettle was descaled, coffee machine clean - rare in many hotels and the mini bar was included and refilled during our stay. We had a kitchenette but no equipment so assume this is an add-on to the room. On arrival, we had a chilled bottle of cava, some dates and a sweet treat, sliced fruits and a jar of sweets- a very welcoming surprise. Also had a rose in the bathroom and living space which they changed throughout our stay. Toiletries were included but they added Complimentary rituals products - That's my favourite brand so I was super happy! Also gave us a bath bomb but we didn't try out the bath. Bathroom had whirlpool bath and great shower, also a bidet. Didn't have an extractor fan, my only concern but was okay for 3 days. Beds and pillows were super comfy. Great wardrobe space, beach towels were in there too, which we loved. All towels were changed nightly, we were also given canned water and mini chocolates nightly, which just added to our overall experience. And the doorbell made a huge difference, it saves you guessing if someone is at the door. Room didn't come with an iron or a board but you can borrow a steam iron from reception leaving a €40 deposit. No problem because your card is already on file so we returned with no issues or charge. Big balcony but would have loved a sun lounger or even a swing chair to make use of the space. I would have also appreciated a bin in the lounge area fo the room. The hotel provides a Free minibus service to and from Puerto del la Cruz, a City centre with shops bars, beaches and an outdoor pool complex. This was great and made it easy to explore as the hotel is on a steep hill. We also used the hotels cab service in the evening which cost around 10 to 12 euros to go to Puerto del la Cruz. On the ground floor there is a Pay per use washer and dryer, its self service. Not sure about soap but there is petrol station at the bootm of the hill and a lidl not too far away. The hotel grounds are beautiful, its December so weather is lovely late morning/afternoon, cool evenings but still comfortable. The adult pool (14+) was freezing but felt much warmer sitting in the loungers there than at the main pool. However the main pool was warmer, still cold but enough o take a refreshing dip after sunbathing for a few hours. We spent most of our time at the adult pool, peaceful calm quiet, great views. Wish they fixed the swings. We did breakfast only and the premium breakfast ticked all the boxes,
