This is an amazing hotel, we stayed for a week and enjoyed every minute, staff could not be faulted and could not do enough for you. Maid servuce everyday, clean towels daily in the room, bedding changed once in the week which was amazing as many places do not do this if only staying 7 nights. We stayed Half board basis and food was amazing, different selections every day and food was always piping hot and kept replenished for the full service time.. This is rated as 3 star but would easily be 4 star for us. We will definitely be returning to this hotel.

Booked last minute. The hotel is very clean, but the rooms are stuck in the 1980s. It’s like going back in time. I had an issue with the air conditioning which I was told had run out of gas. I was offered a new room which I accepted. The new room needed decorating, but was clean. When booking you are warned of the building work going on across the road, it is noisy, but only between around 8am and 7.30pm, breakfast ok. Good choice, but not always hot. Pool area was very quiet, which meant plenty of sun beds and a relaxing pool. Prices at bar expensive. €3 for half a lager,

After reading the reviews on this hotel was a bit dubious.Needless to say don’t take what other people say it was fabulous, food was great plenty to choose from . We got a last minute the coach ride is about 1 hour 30 minutes it’s a lovely place does have very low clouds but when the suns out it’s hot.Try a trip to the zoo it’s great, then a ride back on the train straight into the far end of the town.Great bars and restaurants plus a McDonald’s for the kids. Can see the banana plantation from the hotel room great location 5 minutes walk to the beach 15 minutes into town.Smashing big room everything you need comfy beds and great cleaners work none stop. There isn’t very many English in the hotel but everyone was very pleasant would definitely go back again Not a 4 star though would say a 3 but you get what you pay for.

Whilst this hotel is conveniently situated for the beach and town, it is adjacent to the town football pitch with noisy training sessions and floodlights on until after 10pm most evenings. Overall, the hotel is spotlessly clean with outstanding, hard working cleaning staff. The bed linen and towels are of a high quality. However, that is where the praise ends. Although breakfast is reasonable the evening meal is diabolical. There appears to be a good choice, but this is badly cooked, and even at the start of serving it is almost cold. Furthermore, although hard working, the staff on the grill were clueless as to the cooking so meat and fish was rendered inedible. This raised fears of food poisoning so we ate very little at dinner. A further concern was the behaviour of the 40 students on a weekly course at the hotel. They had no respect for other guests being loud, commandeering the sun beds and smoking. These concerns were highlighted to management and reception but no action was taken. Indeed in one case, the manager in the dining room suggested he didn’t understand English. Overall, a disappointing holiday in a hotel that has so much potential.

I’ve given the hotel a two points. One for the location, which is excellent. You can walk to everywhere in the town and to the beach. The other is for the cleaners. They manage to keep the hotel spotless despite badly marked doors, walls, baths and skirting boards. The dining room has no atmosphere, cheap plastic marked tables and chairs with paper settings. It has the feeling of a works canteen. The evening meal is absolutely awful. No matter how cheap half board seems, it’s not worth it. Even if you go in when it first opens the food is cold. They can’t even cook chips! The puddings are bought in and awful. The only thing edible is the bread and hummus. Breakfasts are not much better. No fresh fruit, or dairy free yoghurts. And Everything lukewarm, and disorganised. If like me you can’t take cows milk, you can’t even get a coffee in the evening, as the dining room doesn’t offer teas and coffees and the bar only has cows milk. The rooms are very tired with marked walls and only one socket. No instructions for TV etc. All the balcony has is two marked plastic chairs. We had two single beds pushed together that were different heights. One was newer, the other was well worn with a lumpy mattress and a loud squeak very time I moved. Duvets had no covers, but were between two single sheets. No kettle in the room. We paid for a sea view, which we had, but behind a municipal football pitch and closed swimming pool.

Will start of by saying that the staff were lovely and helpful, cleaners were very friendly and did a good job of resetting the room every day. However, this is not a 4* hotel. It is incredibly dated and not as advertised on the photos on their website/loveholidays. We checked in late on our first night and the Aircon wasn't working, not a huge deal because it was cool enough with the window open, until it got to 7am and a bloke decided to rev his motorbike for 2 hours straight outside our room. This is obviously not the hotels fault and we didn't want to be a pain so didn't say anything, until it happened again the next morning and we spoke to some other people staying in the hotel who said it happens everyday (they'd stayed before). Unhappy neighbour maybe? We ended up going to reception and they quickly changed our room, which we appreciated, we ended up off the street side and on the sea side which was much quiter and the Aircon worked. Room was still very dated though. Both rooms had no fridge and 1 plug socket on the other side of the room from the bed. The TVs in both rooms were static and had black lines running through. The transfer time is 2.5 hours from South so bare that in mind. Area itself is lovely with some great resteraunts and bars, and a little shop just in front of the hotel. Pool was too cold to use (not the hotels fault) but plenty of sunbeds available and a nice outdoor seating area, breakfast was average. Definitely not a bad holiday for the price we paid but also definitely falsely advertised.

This hotel is central. It’s a quaint. Clean. But, dated. Not a 4 star hotel. 3 star at the very least. NO fridge … 1 plug socket (not great) We did Bed & Breakfast. Bread seemed stale. Omelettes were not too bad. Bar opens @ 11.00am & closes @ 11.00pm Read on one of the reviews that you need ear-plugs for the morning & you do …. House-Keeping start approximately 7.00am & gosh, you can “HEAR” them. Poolside is quiet which I appreciated. I am not, sure, if there is enough sun-lounge(s) if the hotel was to be fully-booked. However the beach isn’t too far …. Overall for 1 week - the weather was great. So was the peace & quiet by the poolside. Met some amazing people. Whilst we have visited Puerto De La Cruz several times. It’s, unlikely, we will visit this hotel again.
