Firstly, we were surprised to see, by hotel signage, that it was a Marriott property or we would have communicated with Marriott directly as we are members. Upon arrival I was pressured by front desk staff to submit a deposit ”just in case we made charges”, we knew we would not have any charges yet after the pressure I complied (I did speak to the Manager who cancelled the charge on our last day). We had a double queen bed room, the beds were comfortable, the A/C was the noisiest I've ever heard, louder than the TV unless the volume was raised a lot, it was also difficult to set the desired temperature and if you turned it off (it was always cold! no matter how much we fiddled with it) the room was super stuffy since there are no windows that open. The bathroom was ok yet had no ventilation and the extractor was not working plus the towels were some of the roughest I've ever experienced. Some of the lights in the room were not operating. All the above we did not complain above, they are just what was in the room during our stay. The one thing we did complain about was the TV system in place, we travel a lot and bring our media equipment for nights spent in, like Fire TB, etc. We also have several online media services which we maintain and use all over the world, like VPN, HBO, Amazon Prime, Netlix, YouTube, etc. While the TV in room can allow you to view Netlix and YouTube, you will not be able to access any other service nor use any of your own media devices. I know several families that bring along video consoles for their children to keep them entertained for example, but the system in this hotel is blocked to any devices from your cell phone or any external device and while we don't have children, having to watch Mexican on air programs (and we are 100% fluent) is not my idea of entertainment. HBO shown on their system does not correspond to any of the descriptions shown on the guide. When I brought this issue up to Management they just said ”Oh, yes we do block all content”. It's a small detail but when most people own more than a few devices, it's very close minded of them. At least they don't charge additionally for Internet which Marriott is known to do.... The restaurant on the main floor was another disappointment as the food was completely without flavor and /or salt, for a Puebla offering is not good at all. We paid for the breakfast buffet at $250 per person. They had someone on the grill making eggs (worst Huevos Rancheros ever!), quesadillas, chalupas, etc. The ”guisados” a beef and potatoes one and a chicken one are best skipped. The beans just ok, the coffee was dark water and while they have an espresso machine it was not in operation. So had juice and some mini pastries which were good. We were never tempted to order room service as offerings in town are much better and many are cheaper as well. When we first arrived I was concerned about this place did not look like a hotel from the outside, once we checked in realized it had been remodeled two years ago, rooms are great. Walking distance to lots of places. Staff is AWESOME! Hotel provides continental breakfast at their rooftop restaurant. The atmosphere and view are breath taking, decided to enjoy the view and order breakfast which turned out to be amazing. Hats off to the chef for such presentable and extraordinary food! G. Mercado

We had been driving since Tepic until 2:30 a.m. and could not find a hotel on our route until we got to the Holiday Inn, Puebla. Exhausted, we were grateful to arrive and be able to park our loaded car out front. (It wouldn't fit in the parking garage with the roof rack loaded.) The front desk staff was so accommodating and professional. Check out was 1:00 p.m., so we had ample time to rest before continuing our travels. The room was clean and comfortable, with a nice, big, hot shower. We are IHG members and received excellent service.

It is very good, and the price they offer is great. Includes breakfast.

The hotel is very good, at a good price, the detail sometimes is the communication of the details that occur, I asked for a room with 2 beds and they did not give me one, they gave a sofa bed that was not comfortable... In general the hotel is good

Stunning property and the room was probably one of the most unique and beautiful rooms I've ever stayed in. We were in awe of our bathroom and level of detail in our room and throughout the property, super impressive. Our breakfast at the restaurant was just okay, the coffee was served lukewarm and the dishes we okay, not stellar especially given the price point. Staff was nice, however, my chief complaint is that they were less than flexible seemingly because we booked through Expedia. We were traveling with our two young children arriving off a red eye flight, I requested an early check and when they noticed I booked through a third party site, confirmed it twice and followed that by stating they would not be able to accommodate the request. The hotel was completely desolate, we sat in the un-airconditioned lobby for 3 hours until our tour was scheduled and literally saw two other guests the entire time. The dining room was completely empty as well so it was not a function of having a fully booked property the evening before. I guess my recommendation is to NOT book through a third party site should you have any special requests.

I've stayed here several times as I've been coming to Puebla more and more for business. I was there 2 nights this week and the staff was great. I am a Hilton Diamond member and they had good Diamond recognition. They upgraded me to a corner Junior Suite (Room 734) which was great as you had a great view both directions. It was spacious, comfortable and had a desk to work on. The bed was ok and the it had working AC. Although, during the afternoon it really had to push to keep the room at the temperature I wanted. At night it always worked well. It seems like it just struggles when it's the hottest and sunniest during the day. That could be solved if you can open the windows but you can't. The only thing that wasn't working is the fridge. They really really should get them back working. I'm not sure if they don't because of COVID but the fridge didn't work at all. They had a working electronic safe which was convenient. Shower pressure worked well and lots of hot water. The internet speeds weren't that quick but it did work. It seems like they always improve the lobby area. They have a business center and now they have a Starbucks window right when you come in which is nice if you like those drinks. For my Diamond benefit they allow points or a continental breakfast. I choose the breakfast which was eggs anyway you wanted, toast, access to the fruit bar and the various juices and coffee or tea. You can pay 150 pesos more and upgrade to the full breakfast buffet. There is plenty of free parking in their secure parking lot. I requested a late 4 PM check-out as my flight left late but they said the latest I could stay was 2 PM as they needed the room. The front desk staff was polite. When I couldn't get something printed in their business center, they asked me to email it to them and they printed it out for me. On the night I flew in, I was very tired and didn't want to go out and they have room service from the restaurant below. The food is totally decent. They brought it up quickly and you can charge to your room.
