The Windmill Kimolos

The Windmill Kimolos is a structure that appears to have been recently renovated. Only a couple of the rooms are inside the perimeter of the old mill. The others are positioned at its feet like appendages. We tried one of these, very functional, clean and equipped with the main comforts. The one at the top, however, did not have a wi-fi signal, the shower heated up 'erratically' and the air conditioning was very noisy. Not to mention the days of strong wind. Furthermore, the staircase to reach it in the last stretch is particularly narrow, so that moving with suitcases is not very practical. Nor is there a continuous customer service guarantee. Being part of the Aria group, which has several accommodation facilities on the island, we would have expected a slightly better organization. In reality, the focus was mainly on efficiency, with a reception for everyone at the port, where there are two ladies who are very available to solve problems. However, there is no minibus for transfers to and from the port and it is therefore necessary to use the only taxi on the island, unless the times for picking up and returning the car to the port are agreed upon very precisely. The staff in the facility is also reduced to the bare minimum. In our case, two ladies who take care of the reception at the mill, breakfast and cleaning the rooms. Asking them to carry the suitcases would have been rude. Among the minuses is a final ramp to reach the facility that small-engine rental cars struggle to travel. Among the pluses, the location allows you to reach the center of the charming Korio and the port in 10 minutes on foot and some small rocky coves and beautiful sea in a little more.
