The area is unbelievably scenic. The spa complex is huge and very good. However the hotel itself is pretty medicare, especially since it claims to have five stars. What makes a good five-star experience? Feeling special being their guest. It’s not at all the case with this hotel. The staff doesn't look particularly friendly or welcoming—not much smiling or nice words in general. We’ve heard “no” too many times from them: Can we sit there? No. Can we move our reservation to the restaurant? No. Can we eat now? No. Is the bar open? No. Does the bar have snacks? No. Etc., etc. The restaurant is a separate story: absolutely average food served in small portions, but enormously overpriced compared to what you can have in the neighbouring village for three times less money. If you stay there, save your money and don’t eat at the restaurant—it isn't worth it. The rooms are nice and have great views, but, c’mon, mould in the bathroom in such a place? Absolutely terrible bed making your back ache? On top of that, no fresh water in the rooms, all bar snacks are paid for, and toiletries are not replenished in time—we lived two days without shower gel. One more thing to consider: The area is absolutely not pedestrian-friendly. If you want to have dinner in the village, you can forget about your glass of wine, because you’ll need to drive there. All in all, if you’re a fan of the area (and believe me, you should be) and want to spend some time there, maybe a cheaper option won’t make you feel cheated. If you love QC spas (as my wife and I do), you can always drop by Bagni Nuovi’s spa without living in the hotel.

The hotel is stunning. Immaculate and elaborate. The architecture and design are incredible; they don;t make hotels like this anymore. We loved the thermal bath/spa, all included with your room rate. My only advice is go on a weekday, if you can. We were there on a Saturday, and 95% of people in spa were there on a day pass; they weren't hotel guests, so spa was packed. I can;t even describe the breakfast buffet the next morning, it was unbelieveable, and included. I have never been to a hotel buffet in Europe with more options and very unique options. I can;t wait to go back for a longer stay.

We had the most incredible stay celebrating our 5 year anniversary for a week at this hotel. Katia and the rest of the staff made our stay so special for us - it was truly a week we will never forget. The hotel itself is incredible. It looks like you are in a Wes Anderson film from the outside. The staff were all so kind and friendly. It is a true spa hotel where you can really turn off and relax. We were in their royal suite- if you have the opportunity to book it, don’t hesitate. It was gorgeous and had an original marble bathtub from the 1800’s which was divine. The restaurant is gorgeous and the meals were superb. By far our favorite breakfast. The spa is amazing. Each room is themed with the most incredible details. Magical is the only way to explain it. Although outside non hotel guests are allowed we never felt it was too crowded to enjoy and my partner and I had tons of private time to ourselves in the various baths and rooms. We can not wait to return. This is our new favorite hotel in Italy (and maybe europe). Thank you so much!!!!!!

The hotel has beautiful grounds and is in a great location. That said, there were some significant problems with service. There was a conference during the same time we were staying. The hotel essentially compromised on service to non-participants in order to focus on the attendees. They didn't allow any room service or access to the restaurant while we were there. The breakfast was included, but the waitstaff never asked if we needed anything nor helped with coffee, etc. This wasn't unique to us, as we saw other guests having the same experience. When the conference attendees did depart, the service didn't improve much. Neither my wife nor I speak Italian. We weren't helped at breakfast, even though the waitress did approach two other tables with Italian-speaking guests. The grounds were really nice and the are plenty of options for soaking pools, saunas, etc., but the workout facility is spartan to say the least. While the staff was courteous and the location was OK, we wouldn't stay there again if in Bormio

The hotel is in a fantastic location with great views and facilities. The Spa is 2nd only because of the one at the Bagni Vecchi. Was very let down by the plastic glasses for the aperitivo. For a 5* hotel this is not acceptable. There was also no water in the room. The self check in was also a disaster. This is like an airport check in and one from a cheap hotel chain. Tried it twice with a receptionist watching from behind the desk and not once did they offer to assist. In the end she had to do a standard check in but did not offer us the complimentary vouchers from trying the self check in. Disappointing service.

My husband had stayed at this hotel with his family a few times pre covid and said it was nice. Good spa and nice food - not super luxury but still nice and worth a visit. Unfortunately it seems that the hotel has gone down hill: - The spa is far too crowded and impossible to enjoy no matter what time of day you go - there is no bar or snack options open until 5pm each day! Forget having a nice afternoon drink… - the lunch is absolutely horrendous, not even in a 3 star hotel would you expect to serve such food in Italy. - all the food seems poor quality and not premium - dinner is average. If you pick a pasta that is a safer option. The main courses were not nice at all - they refused to serve me hot chocolate when I tried to order it at lunch or dinner - it was only allowed at breakfast. Didn’t make sense. Unfortunately we won’t be returning.

1 night stay for a couple booked on Saturday morning for the same Saturday by calling in receiption. The telephone receipt communicates the price of the room and the methods of use of the spa but: 1) it does not communicate that the restaurant is fully booked for that evening and that we will therefore have to find a restaurant ourselves (to be reached by taking the car). I only find out after confirming the booking. At my request they send me a list of restaurants to contact (NB. The restaurant list is a ready-made PDF so I would have expected them to ask me to send it to me without waiting for my direct request) 2) they outline that there is an aperitif, the only availability is at 5.00pm or 5.45pm. I say I'm thinking about it, even if I wanted to use it to replace dinner it's definitely too early. I put it down and from the website I discover that the aperitif is included in the price of the stay, so I might as well have booked but the receiptionist hadn't told me. Room: in the new wing so the room itself is nice but: 1) there isn't any way of having darkness because there are no shutters or shutters, only awnings that let light in from the side, completely illuminating the room in the morning 2) bathroom without fan 3) minibar in which it is possible to insert bottles only horizontally stocked with only bottles with caps of metal (like beer) not resealable so whatever you take you won't be able to put it back in the fridge if you don't finish it (including water) 4) cold shower, problem fortunately solved after our report and all the guests in the nearby rooms 5) room service at the cost of €18 whatever you order, a shame because I could have solved the lack of space in the restaurant with room service but €18 for service only is a little high. Beautiful spa but invaded by daily customers who do not stay in the hotel and which take up all the external car parks so indoor parking is reserved for hotel guests but you have to pay €10 otherwise you go and look for a space on the street and then walk 10 minutes to get back. Given the price of the room, charging for parking is truly a fall in style. No hope of distinguishing your bathrobe from the others (some lucky ones have a number on their sleeve, we don't). And in fact someone takes away my bathrobe. Canteen style aperitif: you arrive and they give you a tray with 4 olives on it, 4 pieces of parmesan, 3 small pieces of apple and 4 sticks of salami (all of very questionable quality for me) and it's up to you look for a table. At the buffet, plenty of focaccia and pizza and a fried area (sage, cheese, potatoes and pancakes with seaweed). End of the buffet, no fruit, no vegetables, no cheese, no cold cuts, nothing that could be vaguely "better". Low quality of the buffet, we were both sick to our stomachs all evening/night (and we didn't go out for dinner because I started feeling sick before dinner time) Breakfast: I can't
