I returned again to the Hotel Relais Valkarana in October 2024, following stays at the hotel in September 2023 and June 2024. Same high standards with service, care and attention to detail from Salvatore, Vanni and their excellent team, being 5 star. It’s a perfect place to unwind and reset, and I’d highly recommended the hotel to anyone exploring or just relaxing in northern Sardinia. Would be wrong for me to sign-off without mentioning the delicious meals served up by the hotel’s kitchen. My sincere thanks to Salvatore, Vanni and the rest of the Valkarana crew for another great stay.

A lovely week spent with my friend in a stunning setting. We have just returned from a great relaxing break, all the staff were lovely and of course I have to say Salvatore was very welcoming, he went above and beyond to accommodate our requests regarding food and our room. The views are fabulous from the dining room and the food was wonderful, we never had a bad meal. I would recommend hiring a car or scooter if you want to explore, however we just wanted a week to catch up as we live 82 miles apart and relax, over a glass or two of wine!!!! A wonderful place to get away from it all for a relaxing break with tasty food and friendly staff.

This is the best hotel we have ever stayed in. From the moment we arrived and were shown to our room by Vanni, the reception manager, we could tell that this hotel was different. They treat each visitor personally and not just as customer. The food was amazing and we enjoyed every course. The view from the restaurant is stunning and the service impeccable. We stayed in a room with a view of the lake which was absolutely lovely. The hotel is spotlessly clean and the gardens are manicured to perfection. We cannot recommend this hotel highly enough and will definitely be returning.

Our week stay at the hotel was just what the dr ordered. Good company good food good weather. Salvatore runs a tight ship with his 11 strong team. Vanni his right hand man on reception who could help with anything you may want. As mentioned by many others you do need a car to get out and about but if relaxation is what you want. Stay put. Everything you need is there. Thank again Salvatore for the use of pedroand keep on being rude ( joke ). All the best Lesley and Gary

The setting is absolutely beautiful, in a remote area in the beautiful Sardinia. Vanni the revenue manager was so kind giving us great advice on places to visit. He and all the staff were brilliant and made you feel so welcome. I would recommend upgrading to bed, breakfast and evening meal as the food is incredible (the best I have ever had on holiday!!) you will get a four course meal everyday and don’t miss out on the cheesecake… it’s amazing I would advise anyone staying at Hotel Valkarana to hire a car as it will cost you over £100 each way from the airport! The roads are typically quiet once you get out of Olbia and probably like me, you will love driving around the North of this beautiful island. Don’t think about it, book it, this Hotel is a hidden Gem

I took my mother to Sardinia for a week and booked this hotel based on previous reviews. What a great choice! Its remoteness is part of its charm because we were able to completely unwind and relax. We had ‘superior’ rooms overlooking the outdoor pool and to wake up each morning with that view sets the day perfectly. Breakfast & dinner choices are superb; more hot food options at breakfast would be welcome. Evening set menus and a la carte options offer tremendous choice. Also, wines by the glass, half carafe & carafe are available. All of the staff, to a person, are friendly and helpful; a credit to the hotel. Special mention for Giorgia who helped us brilliantly when our BA flight was delayed by two hours. Star of the show is Vanni, the Resident Manager. Possibly the most welcoming and helpful ‘concierge’ I’ve ever dealt with. Nothing is too much trouble and is always done with a smile. He can sort out car hire, which is essential if you want to explore further afield. Definitely returning

We spent 1 night at Hotel Valkarana and had an enjoyable experience -- the staff were kind and helpful, the pre-fixe dinner was delicious, and the view was beautiful. Main reason for the 4 stars is that the bed was uncomfortable (could feel the box springs) and the pool area had some lounge chairs but minimal shade. It also didn't feel right that they charged extra for pool towels. Overall felt like a good value given the other options on the island and we had a nice day!
