Locanda Sant'Agata

We had a pleasure to stay at Locanda Sant’Agata for a week , and we can’t say an off of this wonderful place. The atmosphere is peaceful, the place is a perfect location, closed to Pisa, Lucca, Versilia .. Family owned and we loved this feeling , we really enjoyed their hard working to make sure we enjoys our experience. The room is spacious, very well cleaned , lovely simple but beautiful decor , perfect restored, with a modern touch . The restaurant is a top gem place in town and not only…the passion of the chef Nicola it’s incredible, the continue research of create a dish that represent the tradition with a modern point of view. Stunning ! A great experience ! Thank you all…Anna, Nicola,Elisa and Silvia to make our stay memorable ! Please don’t esitate to stop in this beautiful place to enjoy good time with good people. Extremely recommended!!
Albergo Montechiari

Uncomplicated, inhabited hostel in a dreamy high location located centrally between Pisa, Lucca, Siena, Florence and the sea. A long table where all guests will find a place together. Excellent seasonal and local kitchen (without dining card - the evening menu is a well-capped secret!). Very child friendly; a large pool, playground, billiard and table kicker, as well as a large turning in the middle of olive trees, with dogs, chickens and horses belong to Montechiari, as well as the most varied, But always interesting guests! We have come for many years, either alone for a weekend or together with the children for family holidays.
Hotel Repubblica Marinara

Overall it is good, the room is spacious and not crowded at all, and the bathroom is quite large. The heating in the room is adequate, so you have to lower the temperature when you come in. Breakfast is charged separately, not particularly rich, there are many types of bread but no leafy greens, and coffee is exquisite. There is a free pizza map in the shop, there is a free parking lot, open air but very safe. Drive to the Leaning Tower of Pisa in less than ten minutes.

Pisa City Center
We stayed for 4 nights in Pisa at the Hotel La Pace. Pisa is a very interesting city, clean with some great eating places. Also very good for anyone with a gluten intolerance. We stayed at the Hotel La Pace which deserves 5 stars. Clean, friendly staff and great breakfast. we did experience a couple of 'drop outs' with the Wifi but that is the only negative thing about this hotel.

I must have started this review about 5 times because I don't really want to be negative, but then again I don't want to be positive either! We stayed here for one night, and it was enough - much like Pisa itself I feel - one day/night is enough! The location is well out of Pisa - taxi will cost in the region of €25, but if you like the idea of their thermal pools, saunas, etc it's worth it. Our room was a split level - bed above the en-suite with a decent sitting/chilling area downstairs. However I use the term ”chilling” ironically because the AC couldn't get near coping - despite having it working as hard as it could for the entire stay, it only managed to cool the room by less than one degree celsius. Opening the windows didn't help, but they opened into a corridor anyway, so privacy was a concern. Once you actually see a member of staff in the thermal baths/spa area (they seem to be rather sp**** and stay hidden - pretty sure I read that in someone else's review), they are lovely, but I genuinely felt awkward asking them to show us around - which is what the hotel receptionist had told us to ask! When we checked in, we were informed of a ”party” being hosted on the terrace that evening with food (not beverages) costing €90 each. We may have been tempted, but decided that given we were only there for one night, we'd eat in Pisa itself. On returning to the hotel we grabbed a couple of drinks at the bar and were invited (by who appeared to be the Food and Beverage manager) to enjoy our drinks on the terrace with the live music still playing - this was lovely and very thoughtful - certainly the highlight of our stay at the hotel. All in all, it's somewhat aged and needs a bit of TLC, possibly understaffed a little, and in a rural location. That said, the staff are very good and the location makes it wonderfully peaceful and relaxing. The thermal baths are beautiful and somewhat unique so it's very ”different” and for a night-or-two, you can't go wrong. I don't regret booking it, and if the AC had worked, so would probably have been a far more positive review.
