Greeted by friendly receptionist on arrival late at night. Check in was quick and easy. Our room was on the 2nd floor, the upper-most floor. The room was spacious and well equipped, with two beds, bedside tables, a large chair, a desk, a fridge, television, but most importantly an air-conditioning unit. Everything was in good working order. The outlet plugs are the strange italian 3-pin ones as opposed to the usual Europe 2-pin model, so not all our adaptors worked. Bathroom was decent and has everything one would expect. The shower is rather on the small side and could do with higher water pressure. More than ample lighting in the room. Our only real complaint of the stay is that every single night (we stayed 5 nights) there was an awful noise and commotion coming from directly below the hotel’s balcony - some kind of odd party going on every night. Unsure if this was related to the hotel itself or not. This noise continued well into 02:00H / 2am. I messaged reception every night that ‘il rumore é troppo forte’ but nothing was ever done. Dinner was absolutely awful - shocking quality at extortionate prices; hardly anything traditionally italian either. Save yourself and go somewhere local or in the city centre. Much better and cheaper elsewhere. Location seems good but public transport in the area is abysmal and should not be relied upon. Taxis are incredibly expensive, especially for tourists. Apart from those issues it was a good stay and would stay again. I just wouldn’t dine in the restaurant ever again, and would probably request a room away from that god-forsaken balcony.

We spent nine nights in this hotel, three (one adult and two teenagers). Our first impression: we were very disappointed with our room and we wanted to cancel the reservation to go elsewhere. The materials used for the fittings and decoration are very ”cheap” and the rooms do not have the charm that they have on the photos. The lower ones with their large colored windows (the hotel has been converted into a former theatre) have character, but their toilets are outside. Anyone can go there: it is impossible to leave the slightest personal effects there and to walk around in undress, especially since it is the entrance hall of the hotel... In any case, the room that was offered to us was not the one reserved. The noise. All of the hotel's windows are single-glazed, while the building overlooks one of Palermo's busiest avenues. Suffice to say that earplugs are not an option. For convenience - we were in the middle of July - we decided to stay there anyway. Our host, seeing us disappointed, went to great lengths to make our stay pleasant. The ”cheap” aspect was still verified several times. In use, we appreciated the immediate proximity to all the lively places and transport. There is a very well served bus stop just in front of the hotel, which allows you to reach Mondello beach in three quarters of an hour (bus 101 then 806) and to go to / from the airport by a direct shuttle. The train station is also very close; to go to Cefalù it takes a good half an hour of transport. On the other hand, do not think of going swimming in the vicinity of the hotel: the port is not at all equipped for tourism and there are only breakers apart from a tiny zone of launch. water for the boats, which is not cleaned (sea**** and shells of mussels and oysters act as a beach). Another strong point of the hotel, its agreement with the small cafe overlooking the street where you have breakfast. The managers are not fussy and have the children in good hands (long live the croissants stuffed with Nutella). Finally, we really appreciated the air conditioning, which was silent and worked day and night without the slightest difficulty. In the heat wave, it was really nice to go out in the morning, come in to cool off in the early afternoon and come out rested around 5 p.m. Since most of the places to visit are very close, it is a very practical HQ.

We have loved our stay. The room was very spacious, the location unbeatable and the service was friendly. This hotel is sophisticated, tasteful and wonderfully affordable. Some remarks: on Saturday night the music from the rooftop was loud. Our bathroom toilet was a bit smelly, but not unbearably so. We had drinks on the rooftop, where there was w nice urban vibe.Breakfast was delicious.

I had a tough time giving InCanto an average rating, because it was definitely not average. The good qualities were really great, but the bad qualities were really bad. First the good - The room was large & comfortable, located right in the middle of everything, a few steps away from the famous Four Corners. I loved the breakfast every day delivered right to our room. Lots of great places to eat and drink, and sights to see, just a short walk in every direction. Now the bad - InCanto is difficult to find, since the main entrance, the one with a sign, is inside a private building up on the 2nd floor (or 3rd floor for Americans.) There is no signage on the main streets, and only a tiny sign once you find the otherwise generic door located down an alley. I asked many locals for directions when I was only 1 -2 blocks away, and nobody had ever heard of it. The Four Corners is very close, and very LOUD. Live music starts early in the morning and continues until late at night. Well after midnight, after the music stops, people walk through the streets shouting & kicking beer bottles. It's never quiet, and you easily hear all the noise from inside the room with all the doors & windows closed. The front desk is only staffed in the morning, so when we could not find the place in the afternoon to check in, nobody was there to answer the phone. There's no elevator and no help, so be prepared to carry all of your own luggage up two flights of narrow stairs. We had a misunderstanding regarding our bill. It worked out fine in the end, but we couldn't just go to the front desk to fix it, we had to do everything online, so something that would have normally taken two minutes wind up taking half a day. Our room had a nice wood floor, but there were tiny nails sticking up through the floor. We normally don't wear shoes inside, but after having the nails tear our socks and poke the soles of our feet, we had to keep our shoes on. For me, the negatives outweighed the positives, and I would not stay here again or recommend this place to anyone else.

First of all, the location is perfect and the rooftop makes it possible to relax and have the best view over Palermo. Let’s talk about the staff. Never in any destination I’ve meet a staff so friendly, funny, helpful and generous. The hostel has everything you need, kitchen, free food, music instruments, play rooms, amazing outdoor areas, bar, and a pool is upcoming too. The rooms are really clean and spacey. Bed and room temperature is comfortable. The only problem was that I had to leave.

We stayed at this hotel two separate times during our stay in Sicily in April 2022. It's a lovely hotel. It's right in the middle of so many sights and felt safe. Our rooms were spacious and comfortable with big bathrooms. One of our rooms had a view of the hills and the other was street side. My mom's room had a huge balcony that we spent time on soaking up the sun and the sounds of the city. My main reason for writing this review to highlight the AMAZING care the staff provided to my mom and her friend. They caught COVID and were quarantined to this hotel. I was terrified leaving them in Sicily while I went home but the staff took such good care of them. They knew their room number and would ask how my mom was feeling when she called to order breakfast (which is a great breakfast by the way). They helped coordinate retesting. They reassured my mom and were always available to help. My mom and her friend were living off room service and would rave about how great the food and wine was. One employee in particular, Barbara, went above and beyond. She would stop by to see my mom and help her with whatever she needed, such as going to the supermarket to get medical supplies. They were stuck there over Easter and she even brought my mom a chocolate Easter bunny :) and she brought them flowers too and it really brightened their day. My mom and her friend both said she had such a pleasant personality and made them feel cared about and loved. I truly believe their great service actually helped my mom and her friend recover quicker. It was so reassuring knowing that they were in caring hands. We want to go back as soon as they can and will pick this hotel again. Thank you everyone who works there!

Neutral: Location (central in terms of location, but you still have to walk, no matter where) Positive: Good breakfast Friendly and helpful staff Very comfortable bed and pillows Negative: The street (even though the windows faced the side street and not Via Roma) was relatively loud, and the soundproofing in the building was not particularly good (we could hear our neighbors showering). Our room always smelled of damp as soon as you closed the windows for 5 minutes - that was the worst part of the experience, as we couldn't sleep with the windows closed either.

The room was okay. The staff was okay. The breakfast wasn’t really good. There wasn’t any kind of fruits, just pastries joghurt and two kind of cold cuts. and streets were really so i wouldn’t go there again. I think if you go to palermo you should go to an apartman or airbnb. We should do that too

GGuest UserStayed here for 10 days, Meet and greet team and all the restaurant staff were amazing and helpful, Nina the cleaner is a delight, breakfast is adequate but does not change much, would recommend getting to the diner as early as possible. Hotel is clean and very tidy throughout, jacuzzi is welcome on the terrazzo but is a bit small , the views of the mountains, see and people going about their day to day activities can be enjoyed by the jacuzzi aswell, staff are always happy to help and advise on where to go in town if you need something

GGuest UserThe hotel was not obvious for us - when we arrived, we drove around for about 10 minutes looking for a sign before parking on the wrong side of the road, and having to call for instructions. It was our fault, as the hotel tried contacting us earlier in the day but we did not have signal to take the call. Once we were instructed to the right place, it was super straightforward as Gianluca buzzed us in remotely, and upon verifying ID, let us into the unit and our bedroom. The lift in the building was super cool - for this experience alone I recommend staying in this hotel. The room was charming. Our previous hotel was a suite so this felt a bit small, but it was homely all the same. The small downside was how warm it felt in the room. The air conditioning wouldn't work with the windows open, but it wasn't running very strong. At night, we preferred keeping the window open for some fresh air instead. The poster bed added a quaint and romantic feel to the room, and we were absolutely spoilt with a surprise of a bottle of Prosecco as a gift! Of course, the highlight of the whole place was the jacuzzi in the bathroom. As we both had to do some work and also were tired from a road trip, all of these little touches made the stay in this hotel incredibly luxurious for us. I really recommend this place for a romantic getaway or a honeymoon.

JjuliansC6134WCMangia's Himera exceeded our expectations. I got married in Sicily and brought my entire family (around 80 people) to stay for a week. Without a doubt, it is one of the best family resorts in Sicily. The first thing I notice in a hotel is cleanliness, and I can confirm that the resort was impeccably clean throughout our stay. The staff were exceptionally friendly, and the resort offers a variety of activities for both individuals and groups, making it a priority to fill your days with laughter and enjoyment. As Maltese people accustomed to air conditioning during summer, we were initially concerned, but this was the first time I had to turn the AC down because I felt cold during the day. The food was outstanding. Despite my numerous food allergies, the staff were flexible and accommodating, making our stay much more enjoyable. I highly recommend this resort to anyone, whether you're traveling alone or with a large family like ours. They truly make you feel welcome.

KK Hoffman (Canada)I stayed here because I arrived at midnight. I needed a place that is still open and close to the airport. Looks like a nice resort for families as there are individual 'cabins', a swimming pool and a tennis court. Have to get used to the Italian breakfast - hardboiled eggs, cheese, corn beef, jam and bread. But a whole table of sweets and desserts I took the shuttle back to the airport the next morning for 25€. It might because I arrived so late as the hotel could not guaranteed shuttle from airport to hotel. Because it could not be guaranteed, I took a taxi for 35€.

GGuest UserLike many locations there is good and bad. First the good. The hotel is in a nice location by the marina. Food at the restaurant overall was above average but the staff work tirelessly. That is where it ended for us. The front desk was rude and not helpful for the most part. They seemed annoyed every time we asked them a question or for a recommendation of places to eat. We had two rooms. One smelled of smoke and the other of mildew. The AC rarely made it cold in the room. The hotel seems to have been updated recently but the rooms were dirty/dusty and run down in many areas. If you pay for the water view then be prepared for it to be very loud-especially on weekends. There is a busy street and many parties right outside your window. If you are from the US, expect there to not be wash cloths. That is not uncommon in Europe and this hotel was no different. Lastly, we purchased a third room for a friend who's flight got canceled. This hotel would not refund us and walked away from us when we tried to get an explanation other than ”it is our policy”.

GGuest UserI had never been to Sicily before so I was so careful with where I chose to book within my budget. Let's also factor in I've never driven in mainland Europe (where the road side and etiquette differs) and I didn't want to stress myself out on holiday. My partner felt the same way. So, walking distance was a factor too. Hotel Tourist is 15 minutes walk from the main town of Cefalú. Its really not too far, you can even see the Cathedral of Cefalú from the hotel and from your balcony on that side. The walk itself is a lovely stroll on a beach promenade not too far from some restaurants. We booked bed and breakfast with a balcony. We aren't the types to hang around our accommodation too long so if that's you, I highly recommend Hotel Tourist. I'm unsure if they've undergone much renovation in the past 5 years (after reading some concerning reviews) but our room was perfect, spotless clean, bathroom clean and spacious with a good shower (and water pressure). We loved the continental breakfast and looked forward to it every morning, the food was lovely and really fresh. I was loving the coffee machine (for espressos, cappuccinos, americanos etc) I want to mention a staff member called Maria who was so kind and helpful. She's a treasure. The bar was very quiet (I might have to put this down to the season, we stayed mid-May) so if you are looking for a hopping hotel bar, you might not like that. It didn't bother us, we preferred to go out regardless of that. I had a very positive experience. Again, note some of the bad reviews are old and maybe a bit unfair. Hotel Tourist is 3 star. It has a lot going for it and we would stay again. Cefalu is indeed like the pictures, absolutely stunning. One tip for prospective travellers would be to be careful on the footpaths, they are quite badly maintained and I had a tumble myself! Other than that, you won't regret booking.

Since there is no reception at the building, you’re supposed to contact the hotel owner, William, by phone for getting the keys. However, the breakfasts there were lovely with scenic rooftop view and handmade beverages by the caterer -Cleanliness: the room is generally clean but there’s no daily cleaning service and windows need to be opened to dispel odors -Amenities: the best part of the hotel’s amenities was that they got a water dispenser for refilling your water bottles *the staff there only speak Italian
