Marino Patruno and his wonderful team certainly know how to run a Grand Hotel. We arrived late in the day having toured around Italy with Viareggio as our final rest stop. Comfortable and accommodating, the staff will take care of all your needs, from sorting out your laundry to organising a comprehensive choice of delicious dishes for dinner. With relaxing gardens and pool, we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again

I stayed at the Grand Hotel Royal with friends recently & we had an amazing time. The hotel was faultless with wonderful charm. We had a lovely spacious, impeccably clean & comfortable bedroom with sea view & balcony. Everything from tea making facilities to fluffy white towels were in room. We took full advantage of well presented breakfast with excellent selection of fresh food which catered for all taste buds. Beautiful pool & bar with relaxing gardens. Overall we had fantastic holiday in a quality hotel with extremely courteous, helpful & friendly staff. If you want a relaxing holiday in the lap of luxury, Grand Hotel Royal is the place to stay. My sincere thanks to each & every one of you for a truly wonderful experience. M O’Leary

Visited this absolutely beautiful hotel last week with three friends for a short break. The hotel is in a very good location, convenient to shops, restaurants and the beautiful beach. The rooms were ready on our arrival at 12 noon and were spacious, airy and spotless clean as was the whole hotel. All the staff were extremely welcoming and efficient. The dining experience was fantastic with extensive food and drinks menu, all reasonable priced. A return visit is already booked

This grand hotel is a great place to stay in Viareggio. The staff are very friendly and extremely helpful, and most of all the food is fantastic. We had lovely swims in the pool, and although it was unheated this early in the season it is set in a sheltered spot so it was not a problem and we soon warmed up. The pool area is very clean with nice comfortable beds. There is also a nice informal cafe where you can have lunch. We had a bit of a problem with wi fi in our room (315) but reception quickly passed the problem on to the tech people to get the issue resolved. We would definitely return to this hotel.

I have stayed at the Grand Hotel many times in the past and it just gets better. The Buffet breakfast is outstanding and if for some reason there is something different that you require they quickly get it for you, as they did with me with freshly squeezed orange juice. I had a wonderful room on the second floor at the back and did not need the air conditioning on as I could leave the window open as it was so quiet. All the staff are fantastic and helped me with information sheets for all I asked. The Hotel is tremendous value for all the facilities that it offers. Although I was on my own I made good use of the many buses that run from the front and back of the hotel and a train station only a short distance away. I cant wait to return in October and make use of their swimming pool and Restaurant. Their description is perfectly correct - It is a Grand Hotel!

We stayed here for a week and were very impressed. We arrived late in the evening, past dinner time, and they laid on a cold platter just for us. Courteous, helpful staff, nice room - well-furnished. Excellent menu and restaurant food. Good swimming pool. We loved it!
