Stayed as part of an InnTravel walking holiday. Walked several miles from near Vieste through the forest to arrive here. Room and bathroom very well appointed. Worth noting you cannot drink the tap water here, so you need to buy bottled water - it is not offered free. Staff charming and proud of their lovely hotel - but the jewel in the crown is the exceptional food and restaurant standard.

Amazing hotel in the beautiful Foresta Umbra. Comfortable and clean room but the highlight was the restaurant. Wonderful innovative food served in a dining room looking onto the trees. All of the staff were friendly and efficient. We had a great stay.

Easily the best part of this hotel is its location – buried deep in the heart of the forest. The Hotel Elda – offers a “Forest to Fork Experience” based on locally sourced ingredients. Think bright green nettle sauce and tiramisu topped with powdered porcini mushrooms. It may not be to everyone’s taste, but it is certainly a little different from the norm, which is always entertaining. It is an eco friendly hotel making good use of rainwater. This does mean that there is no drinking water on site though, so you need to plan ahead and bring your own or plan to buy bottles in the restaurant. Apart from that, it is a clean and comfortable base in very natural and peaceful surroundings. We visited as part of a 7 day walking trip to the Gargano Peninsula. Lots more tips on LovetoWander.

We passed this hotel by chance visiting the Foresta Umbra, looking for a place to eat lunch. We did not expect to find a chef who cooks such excellent dishes with local high quality ingredients and a lot of fantasy. The food not only looked superb, it was delicious, light but very satisfying. The service was very gentle and quick. The white and red wines were from the owners own vineyard and suited the different dishes perfectly. The prices were very honest. Highly recommended!

The bar was poorly stocked, there were no packaged ice creams but only semifreddos at a price of €7 despite being small in size, the staff were rude.

The food did not live up to expectations despite the very high price... breakfast without any quality products found already prepared on the table because the evening before you have to communicate what and how much you want to eat. The room was comfortable. I would not go back.

I was there during the jazz festival. I have to say it was terribly organized. Those who had booked an aperitivo were left with just one drink and three taralli (costing €20) waiting for over an hour for the concert to start, without the option to order anything else. The staff were also rude.

It's definitely a great place, but it's still weird having to pay 1 euro to use the bathroom. The worst part, though, is being yelled at for paying for coffees... in front of other people. The guy could have acted differently. Terrible behavior.
