The only reason I gave this hotel 2 stars instead of 1, is because I was traveling with a 14 month old baby that was sick, and I know that part of my negative experience was that. I will also qualify this by saying that we went there on the recommendation of our group's travel agent, so I assume other people have had positive experiences. The big positive of the hotel is that it is set on a beautiful hill overlooking a valley amid vineyards and hazelnut groves, where you can see the Alps in the distance. Absolutely a stunning view. Now the negative... 1. We had originally booked a suite, but something with the sliding doors must not have been able to seal properly, so our suite was open to the stink bugs. Apparently late October is typically when stink bug season starts, but this year early rains brought them early, and so we went into the room to find a couple dozen stink bugs in our room. We told the hotel and at first, it was as though they didn't believe us. Like we jsut had our door open and were upset they were coming inside. Rather than the fact that the door just didnt work to keep them out. Eventually the hotel came to remove the bugs, but within minutes there were at least a dozen more. I dealt with them that time, and minutes later at least a dozen more. We wouldn't have wanted to deal with a room that couldn't seal out bugs at a motel 6 and definitely not at a hotel room where basic rooms are more than 600 euros on a weeknight. We asked to switch rooms and they switched us to the only room that they had available. which was one of their basic rooms. It was a shoebox of a room that really could not accommodate a crib. We had to place it in the hall just inside the door so we squeezed through between the crib and the wall to get to room (btw, the crib was 50 euros per night). The room was so small that the bed takes up almost the whole space and there was essentially no room for our baby to play on the floor. The hotel continued to act as though this was not a major inconvenience, but did eventually send a bottle of wine to our room as an apology after the travel agency complained to them. We were dealing with a sick baby so we never even drank it. I will say that the rooms came with beautiful balconies that were a major part of the space of the room. However, even if the door was working they were so full of stink bugs that they were essentially unusable. This wouldn't have been true if stinkbug season had come later or we had come earlier, and this would have made the rooms much nicer. 2. Part of the appeal of the hotel is the location, but it has a major downside. It is isolated enough that you can't get a cab so any plans need to be made in advance and getting a car to take you down the hill will be 200 euros. So you can't do anything impromptu. 3. Wij hadden een kamer voor 2 dagen geboekt van 17m2. Wij hadden i.v.m. activiteiten elders in de omgeving een slaapplaats nodig. De foto’s en beoordelingen zagen er goed uit dus vandaar hier geboekt. De goede beoordelingen kan ik na ons verblijf echt niet begrijpen. Bij aankomst in de kamer was het toch wel ernstig klein, maar goed dat hadden we zelf zo uitgekozen en konden wij ons wel overheen zetten. De airco werkte niet dus was het ernstig warm en benauwd op de kamer. Bij navraag over de airco werd gezegd dat de monteur vandaag of morgen zou komen. Hierbij dacht is gelijk, jaja, zeg gewoon dat het te veel kost en jullie geen airco aan willen hebben om kosten te besparen. Volgens de medewerker was het tenslotte ook niet warm… 28 graden is best een temperatuurtje dachten wij. Als je het donker wilde hebben in de kamer om te slapen moest je het raam sluiten aangezien de luiken aan de binnenkant van het raam zaten. Euhm, geen airco en dan het raam dicht, dan wordt het een sauna. Maar geen luiken dicht betekent licht van de schijnwerper buiten in je kamer. Rolgordijn naar beneden, oh ja, het rolletje hing er wel maar het gordijn was weg. Dus maar een handdoek opgehangen zodat er nog een beetje lucht binnen kwam en het meeste licht gedempt werd. De balken in het plafond warden denk ik al zo’n jaar niet afgestoft, de lamp in het halletje was kapot, de overige lampjes vervangen maar het schilderwerk niet veranderd en de oude gaten met pluggen zag je ook nog. De douchcabine 70x70 was goor en beschimmeld. De douchkop kwam nog wat water uit, maar het meeste liep via de slang naar de muur maar niet waar het hoorde, de kraan stak ongeveer 20cm uit waardoor je er met je rug telkens tegenaan stootte en dus onder een gloeiend heet water stond of zonder water stond, erg vervelend. Voor het toilet moest je ook niet te groot zijn want dan moest je je benen in de nek leggen. Het toilet stond tegen de douchcabine waardoor je er niet gemakkelijk gebruik van kon maken. Stopcontacten extra waren er niet, waardoor je dus een lamp uit moest halen om je telefoon o.i.d. opladen. De stoelen buiten waren voorzien van vieze beschimmelde en natte kussens, ook al zouden ze droog zijn geweest had ik hier nog niet op willen zitten. Verder gingen ze op zaterdag de gehele tuin snoeien met benzine werktuigen, en had het personeel het alleen maar druk met voorbereidingen voor een feest (daar kwamen wij later achter). Een drankje o.i.d. kon je niet krijgen. Bij het ontbijt stond alles open en bloot op tafel, geen afscherming en geen personeel. De Wifi was ronduit teleurstellend, praktisch geen bereik en je werd er telkens uitgegooid. De t****e avond kwamen wij terug en schrokken van de t$^%$^%$ herrie die er in het hotel was. Er bleek een feest te zijn in het hotel met keiharde muziek en heel veel mensen vanuit de streek.
