Our stay in Casale Poggio del Tiglio was great. The house and the land around it are wonderful. We loved the dogs that were very enthusiastic. Also the donkey and the horses were nice. Every morning the breakfast was nice with delicious home made cakes. The owner and Dino are very kind. Dino gave so much good advice about activities in the area that we enjoyed. The owner made a delicious dinner the last night we stayed there. So: we had a great stay with lots of nice memories!

Our 8 person group (four couples) was staying for one week. We were impressed of the friendliness, great service and peaceful rooms and what is also good to mention is the excellent dinner we tried twice during our stay (Sicilian specialties, a lot of high quality vegetable, everything for all taste). The position of the agriturismo was also interesting for bird-watchers, there was e.g. constant flow of migrating birds flowing from Africa along to Sicilian coast into direction of Messina strait, which is one of the most interesting places to follow the migration of raptors. We did also birding in Natural Reserve of Vendicari in the South, which is only 1,5 hrs drive away. We enjoyed also breakfast, which was containing both Sicilian specialties and also Continental incredients.

Our room (Dispensary) was good, with a lovely view. The grounds are well kept. Dinner was expensive, but good. My biggest problem was the number of rules, such as don't eat or drink in your room. On a rainy day, where else do you eat? We ended up eating in the dining room, and made a tea for ourselves. When the owner found out, she charged us for the tea! This is being nickel and dimed. They should have a kettle and tea service in the bedroom. Another problem is that, even though the place is next to a large park, they didn't know where the trails were, or how to get there. Forget about walking around the streets - a very dirty and run down area. Breakfast was very unhealthy - not one whole grain thing on the table, with the exception of bran flakes. Next time, I'll find a hotel in Catania.

Positive: The complex is very nice and well located for trips to Mount Etna. Rooms as described. breakfast good. Cons: The reception was less warm than other places, the immediate area rather unattractive. Important: The dogs are large and move freely in the facility - nothing for people who are afraid of dogs.

The property is in a completely run down area. Large, free-roaming dogs without supervision - also on the playground, at the pool, etc. Nothing for smaller children! Zero compromise from the owners when we didn't want to stay there. We were forced to pay full price for all nights (over EUR 600,-). Owner's Comment: We are not in the position to make any suggestions but would have to pay full price. After all, that would be in the conditions. Very bitter experience!

The country house is conveniently located on Mount Etna for day trips on the east coast. The rooms, while small, are clean and meet expectations for amenities. Unfortunately, the pool was just freshly filled, so that swimming was out of the question despite the outside temperature of 30°C (max. 17°C). Homemade cakes are served at the manageable breakfast, otherwise you will look in vain for your own products (convenience). "Farming" consists of keeping a donkey and two horses. The relatively large garden is primarily used as a free run for the six large dogs (husky and mixed breeds). The guests are given a comprehensive set of rules, which the landlady is expected to comply with. The porch in the garden is under video surveillance 24/7 (!), apparently to prevent people from eating there. Don't believe the landlady's promises of on-site dining; she constantly puts things off until the next day, in order to finally get rid of the guests by saying that dinner can only be taken on the terrace for reasons of space (at a maximum of 15°C outside temperature); she seriously recommended "thick jackets". Hospitality looks different; there are more attractive destinations in the surrounding area.

L’hébergement est bien situé entre Catane et Taormina pour rayonner au sud-est de l’Etna. Joli parc, parking facile et sécurisé. Nous avions choisi cet agritourisme plutôt qu’une location de maison pour pouvoir y manger le soir. Cela n’a été possible qu’en y amenant notre propre nourriture sans possibilité de cuisiner, la propriétaire n’étant pas présente et nous ayant surtout pas prévenu avant notre arrivée de son absence. Éclairage extérieur inexistant, pas de pièce commune disponible le soir hors local baby-foot, vins hors de prix (€24 la bouteille) et les œufs du petit déjeuner payants…On continue avec la chambre borgne qui ressemble à une cave. Un merci pour le personnel sympathique livré à eux même.

Bella struttura immersa in un bosco alle pendici dell'Etna. Camere comode e ben termoisolate (nonostante il caldo afoso abbiamo dormito senza accendere l' aria condizionata). Negli ampi spazi esterni vi sono diverse posti dove potersi rilassare o pranzare all'aperto. Buona la colazione con prodotti del luogo e torte fatte dalla proprietaria. Ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo. Sicuramente torneremo
