Villa rafia what an excellent guest house owned and run by Darna and her lovely family, stayed here on the 15th November 2023 for one week. Breakfast was mixed fruit, toast and jam, and eggs cooked to your liking fruit juice and coffee and was all very nice. The rooms were very nice and equipped with fridge and air conditioning, and a lovely balcony to sit and chill after a day exploring the island. 100% trust in this guest house as we left our phones money and camera in room most days and nothing was touched. Would also like to point out that we had an afternoon flight back and Darna very kindly agreed to let us keep our room on at no extra cost to shower and get ready for our return journey Would highly recommend the villa rafia for all reasons above and very well situated only 5 min from beach

+ Small guesthouse in a tropical garden 5 minutes walk from Anse Volbert Beach, some restaurants and supermarkets. + Free parking place for guests only. + Accomodation with breakfast. + Shared lounge and breakfast area. + You can have 5-course dinner (400 SCR/p.p.), but you must order and pay in advance in the morning. We did not try it. + Nice staff and the owner. + You can pay cash or credit card. + Wifi is available for free in the shared lounge, but it’s not very stable (it’s problem in a whole island). + Villa and the room is clean daily. - No pool. - Breakfast is very simple and the same every day – a fruit plate, juice, toast, butter, tea or coffee and you can choose from boiled eggs, scrambled eggs or an omelette. - No drinking water (in a bottle) in the room or in the guesthouse. You have to buy water in the supermarket. - No shampoo or shower gel in the bathroom. - Not all rooms have private veranda or terrace, for example room number 3 (standard room). You don’t have the option to sit outside, except the shared lounge. - You have outdoor grill in the garden. But no plates or cutlery in the room, if you decide to use the grill spontaneously. Probably, you have to reserve equipment in advance (we did not try it). - You can’t buy any drinks, neither coke nor water at Villa Rafia. - Room 3 (standard room) was very basic and outdated. The bathroom definitely needs renovation. There is fan, aircondition and small refrigerator in the bathroom. Many non-functional little things: in a double room for two people only one glass for water, no glasses for wine or beer in a whole guesthouse, the main building with information leaflets and a number of the owner if needed, it’s locked from the afternoon, no trash can outside. Review: Small guesthouse in a tropical garden, near one of the most beautiful beach in Praslin. Unfortunately, we give 3 stars for a very basic and outdated room, the bathroom was clean, but definitely needs renovation. The price did not include drinking water, shampoo or shower gel, which is standard even in apartment and bed and brekfast. There is also no possibility to buy at least non alcoholic drinks. For the price of 95 Eur/night for standard room, that we paid, Villa Rafia should really provide a better standard.

A top-notch welcome from Justin and Angélique who take great care of their clients throughout the stay; No soap in the bathroom and not a bottle of water in the fridge. With these few areas for improvement I would definitely recommend this place

We stayed there for 2 weeks (very unusual for vacationers, these are generally short stays in Praslin hotels.) The accommodation is spacious and very quiet. Magnificent lush and colorful garden. Hearty breakfast prepared by Derna, who pampered us for 15 days.

We have spent 6 nights at Villa Rafia, we can only say that it has been like being at home. Derna's kindness🥰Justin's kindness👍🏿 is ten 10/10. The room was clean, beautiful and in very good condition, as was the bathroom. Breakfast, for us, has been correct (a small plate of fruit, a juice, coffee or tea, bread and eggs). All the rooms have chairs outside where some nights we have had a snack. Cote d'or and Volbert beach 5' away. If you have to book an excursion, do it better with Justin, we have booked one next to the Diving Center, they told us it was until 4pm and we were back at 3pm (so, it is better to do it with the people who recommend the accommodations where you are) . Just to say that we will miss you Justin and especially Derna. An Italian and a Spanish woman more than happy.

We had a very charming apartment with our own balcony. Very spacious and functionally furnished, there was nothing to complain about. The only thing missing was a shower curtain. Comme à la maison Un accueil chaleureux de la part de la propriétaire des lieux Dana, elle prend le temps de vous donnez toute les informations nécessaires pour passer un bons et beaux séjours à Praslin. La guesthouse est trop belle entourée d’une belle végétation, la salle de séjour et de petit déjeuner est décorée avec soin, dans les couleurs locales, il y a un bar payant si besoin de se près lacer avec un bouquin. Un arrêt de bus est juste devant le guest house ainsi qu’un chemin traversant l’hôtel à côté pour rejoindre facilement la plage. Le petit déjeuner est complet et succulent.
