Villa Il Frantoio and Lilmar

We visited Il Frantoio with very special friends as part of my wife’s birthday celebrations. We had a wonderful stay with everything being just perfect. Our 2 bedroom apartment was really well equipped and very comfortable with a large private patio space. Breakfast was fabulous and it was great to have fruits and other breakfast ingredients which had been grown in the hotel gardens. Giacomo was a wonderful host who took the time to chat to us every morning and he had plenty of good suggestions for things to do and places to see. We booked his private boat for a 4 hour trip along the Amalfi coast. We enjoyed drinks during the cruise and a couple of stops for us to have a swim. The rest of the team at Il Frantoio are all wonderful and super helpful. Cristina looked after us on arrival and was on hand to prepare some delicious lemonchello spritz drinks by the pool. Tony was busy preparing our breakfast each morning, and Aruna kept out apartment clean with a daily refresh - always with a big smile on his face. We also met Giulio - Giacomo’s Dad, who tended to the garden areas and made the most wonderful jam for the breakfast buffet. Overall this place is faultless and I hope we can return again some time. A beautiful villa in a scenic and peaceful village. The rooms are clean, spacious and loved how the history of the villa was preserved in each room. It is a short walk/bus ride from two lovely beaches and many great, authentic restaurants. Giulio, Samuele and Gianluca were always so friendly and helpful throughout our trip :)

We had 6 days here and loved it . First , so happy no to be in positano , a beautiful place but sadly now overrun with tourists. Priano is a quiet town with enough restaurants , etc for a visitor . Julio is the owner of the property , and is accommodating , gracious, and nice . Makes great eggs, too ! Roberta is the front desk/ concierge and is fun, friendly and helpful . She found us a nice ( separate review ) cooking class on the one rainy day at il PINO . Great fun. . The view is the best of anywhere we found in priano , and the pool is good for a lovely dip . Lots of loungers, too. Cute and quiet little 9 year old resident dog adds to the charm . Breakfast was really good, either in the garden, deck or atrium . Room was nice , and a comfortable bed , hard to get in Europe . We had a nice grassy sitting area of our own , with loungers , too . Good location , close to restaurants but you do have to be moderately fit , all of priano has a lot of stairs . No big deal to us and we are far from being super fit . Thankyou Julio and Roberta .

We had the most amazing stay at Villa Il Frantoio. The hotel and surroundings are absolutely beautiful. Everywhere is spotless and you can tell the owners take real pride in their B&B. Our room was lovely and the garden area overlooking the sea was just perfect. Giulio and the rest of the team couldn’t have been more helpful with recommendations and were wonderful hosts, plus their lovely little dog was an added bonus. There was a great selection for breakfast, again with the most incredible views. I could not fault our stay. We have not stopped talking about our trip since we left and are already planning to return. This place is truly a little piece of paradise on the Amalfi Coast - I could not recommend it more.

They accommodated us by meeting us a little on the later side which was appreciated. The room was nice, fantastic view. Nothing too fancy, but comfortable. Nice breakfast spread. Just be warned there is a LOT of walking involved. 250+ steps down to the main town, and around 100 going back up to the upper taxi/parking area. It was fine for us, but some planning is needed with luggage. We only took our backpacks. Only complaint is one early morning, one of the other rooms must've been smoking, and the smell coming into our room was horrific and kept us from sleeping. Praiano is a nice little town, perfect jumping off point as it's centrally located between some of the best spots on the Amalfi coast. Recommended with caveats!
