The Golden Wheel Hotel

Really nice hotel close to the main attractions of the city. Smooth and quick check-in. Tasty breakfast. Beautiful view from the window. Will stay again when in Prague.

Hotel was in a good location not far from the cathedral

Just back from a delightful stay at The Golden Wheel. Rooms: We stayed in room 412 which looked out on the street at the front of the property. It was very clean and all amenities I would expect. A mini fridge and safe to use and tea, coffee and biscuits provided. The bed is really comfortable with a nice firmer mattress. The bedding was clean and in a good condition. The room was a perfect temperature with an adjustable thermostat. The furniture was of good quality and the overall appearance was nice with wooden floors and wooden beams. Bathroom: Clean and modern. The water was always hot and the shower had good water pressure. There was liquid hair and body wash and also a separate hand wash. Towels were of good quality and as I only stayed for 3 nights, I put the towels on the radiator to dry to save useless changing. Breakfast: Picture attached. As I’m not a big breakfast eater, it was adequate for me. There were several different breads, cold meats and cheese. Different cereals and some pastries and cakes. Hot selection consisted of ready cooked fried eggs, cooked sausage and vegetables. Various different teas and two bean to cup coffee machines. Hotel has a good overall appearance which is Czech in style. I liked this as it felt authentic and not a stereotypical chain that all looks the same. I am quite particular when it come to hotel and I would definitely stay again if I find myself back in Prague!

Poor hotel in good location. Rude, russian speaking personel. Poorest room cleaning I’ve seen - towels not changed, shower gel diluted with water, no toiletries. Dirty glasses not washed. Poor breakfast with little choice. It should be called a no star hostel.

My mother and I had a wonderful stay at the Golden Wheel. The room was spacious, the beds are really comfortable and everything was very clean and the double shower was great. Outside was very cold but the room was very warm, we had to open the window! The room also had a smart TV which we were able to log into our Netflix account. The reception staff were very helpful and friendly, especially the young man working nights. The location of the hotel is fantastic with only a 5-10 walk to the Charles Bridge. It is halfway up a rather steep hill and the entry steps are a bit awkward. Whilst there are lifts in the building there are many areas within the hotel that have 2-3 steps to access various rooms, which was a little awkward with our suitcase.

I stayed at the hotel for 3 nights. Very good location, spacious and clean rooms, charming place. The breakfast was perfect even though there was not a big selection. The best thing was the friendly lady at the reception  Very funny – thanks! I had a great stay and can recommend that place for sure!
