Jalta Boutique Hotel

Old Town Prague|0.92km from Chocolate museum
This hotel is good, do not be put off that it is a former Soviet-era built hotel. It isn't shabby and the staff are very nice. The beds are comfortable and they considerately supply lovely, soft pillows, in two sizes so you can get really comfy. Bathrooms are well presented with L'Occitaine soaps & shampoos etc. The only drawback we found in the bedroom was that the bedside electrical sockets were not close to the bed, so it meant alittle inconvenience for us in particular, using a CPAP machine, rather than being universally annoying for everyone. The in-house restaurant, serving sushi-styled dishes is also good albeit expensive. Do not be talked into eating too much though, as we were and then landed a £100/head bill - but that was our fault for being probably too greedy after a long day's travelling. It's well situated in Wenceslas Square and you will find it more convenient than its position on a map may suggest. The Old Town is easily walked into. The only two things we were disappointed by were a) the breakfast area was, we think, because it was Feb and the hotel operating at half capacity, was effectively in their nightclub area. It's rather gloomy with the wrong vibe for your morning breakfast, even the though th ebreakfast itself is generous and with a wide range of choices. (They actually have a lovely conference cum dining area we glimpsed on the first floor but I suspect that is used when occupancy is fuller); b) the fascinating Fall Out Shelter located in the hotel basement tour was slightly spoilt by the poor student whose English wasn't quite up to par, so we found it hard to follow his explanations. It's still worth a look though, and see for yourself Orwell's '1984' novel sort of made real. Overall a good choice for a short break.

Falkensteiner Boutique Hotel Prague

We were in Falkenstein Hotel for 3 nights and had a normal double room. First to the positive: Breakfast is really good and in addition to the buffet are served on order fresh things like omelets, Porige & Co. On the buffet there could be a little more vegan choice. Except for a humus and alternative milk there was not much. This does not fit to a modern young hotel. However, you can say that breakfast is fresh, lovely and sufficiently rich. Also the staff at breakfast is very friendly and attentive! However, what we have never experienced is that the buffet is really closed in time and everything is immediately cleared. That is uncomfortable and does not fit to a high-end hotel. Now to the negative aspects: In general, we were not satisfied with our stay. The lobby & bar is modern and stylish. The lifts are obsolete and the fence works more after a motel. The rooms are small (but not bad for us!) However, there also lacks some lovely details that you would expect in a 5-star hotel. The coffee machine is a little old and calcified, too, there is no water cooker but tea accessories which is somewhat questionable. The worst was the service at the lobby and the cleaning forces!! During our stay, we had always been in the lobby to face the same gentleman who appeared unfriendly and unsympathetic. One day after cleaning our room, we stayed without toilet paper and without a single towel! We have drawn attention to this and received a slightly annoying reaction instead of an excuse! The price-performance ratio is unfortunately not true in this hotel and we have made better experiences with 5 and 4 stars hotels in Prague.

Occidental Praha Five

Smíchov Prague|2.7km from Chocolate museum
I recently had a highly unpleasant experience with Mr. Martin. It all started when I decided to order room service, expecting to enjoy a late dinner in the comfort of my room. According to the menu provided in my room, room service was available until 10 PM. I called the hotel's room service line at 9:40 PM, well within the time frame specified on the menu. To my surprise and frustration, Mr. Martin informed me that the kitchen was closed and that he couldn't accommodate my request. I expressed my disappointment and confusion, explaining that I had called within the stated hours. Mr. Martin's response was dismissive and unsympathetic. He didn't provide any reasonable explanation for the early closure of the kitchen, nor did he offer any alternative options or suggestions to alleviate the situation. His lack of professionalism was evident as he seemed uninterested in addressing my concerns or providing any form of customer service. This incident left me feeling neglected and disrespected as a guest. The discrepancy between the menu's advertised service hours and the actual availability of room service is unacceptable. Mr. Martin's unhelpful attitude only exacerbated the situation, leaving a bitter taste in my mouth and significantly impacting my overall experience at the hotel. As a customer, I believe it is essential for hotel staff, including Mr. Martin, to prioritize guest satisfaction and strive to resolve issues in a respectful and efficient manner. Unfortunately, my encounter with him fell far short of these expectations. I hope that the hotel management takes note of this incident and addresses the need for better communication and customer service training for their staff. It is crucial for them to rectify such issues promptly and ensure that guests are provided with accurate information and appropriate assistance.

Hotel Lunik

Nové Město Prague|0.29km from Chocolate museum
For the price, I am so happy with my stay at Lunik, their rates are always very reasonable rates and super clean. The morning breakfast (7am-10am that was built into my stay) was wonderful, among the best I've had at any hotel, great fresh pastries, fresh fruits, and eggs and cooked dishes that change each day, so it's not the same things. Saved a lot of money there by starting the day with a solid meal. The location was a great launching point to anywhere in Prague, walking to old town or across the river is about 20min. Easy Uber to anywhere in about 10min, unlike staying in old town or other more busy places where Uber/taxi cannot pickup, cars easy get to Lunik. Loved walking the more quiet and safe neighborhood around Lunik after busy times elsewhere. For those with families, there's so many ”American fast food all around” perhaps too many, but for families, those eateries and the many pastry shops and grocery stores (Tesco) nearby are helpful. The standing shower is very small, as is common in Europe. I'd recommend you bring your own soap and shampoo. There is not a laundry room, but laundry service can be provided for 200czk. Wifi is steady and usable but not fast, I ended using my cellphone hotspot when I needed to Zoom for work. There is a late hour money exchange place across the street on Jugoslavska 236 with the best rates, several banks nearby too. Just remember never to click conversion, since your own bank back home will always give a better rate, so keep things in Czech crowns. Airport taxi to Lunik around 800czk, Uber 600czk, though at times, hard to get a Uber from the airport, easy to get a Uber to return to the airport. I plan to always return to Hotel Lunik when visiting Prague/Praha.

Nové Město
The hotel staff was kind and helped me with any questions I had. The hotel is clean and tidy but not at a very high standard, for me it was enough. The location of the hotel is excellent - next to a metro station and a station of several tram lines but the truth is that the main square and the city center are a 15 minute walk so I didn't always use public transport, on the other hand the hotel was not in a very central and noisy place. The hotel had the option of a simple breakfast for some extra cost, but I preferred to eat in local cafes. Unfortunately the air conditioner did not work and it was a hot day. I didn't talk about it with the hotel staff because I wasn't in the hotel most of the day and it wasn't the peak of the heat. It is important to note that in order to get to the elevator and from the elevator to the room there are stairs that may be difficult for older people.

This hostel is the hotel with the best atmosphere I have stayed in Europe these few days. The front desk is very friendly and everyone who comes in will greet me. The bathroom and toilet here are independent. They are not in the room. The facilities are great. There are plugs, small lights and curtains at the head of the bed. Even if a girl lives alone, it will not be awkward, because there is enough privacy.

The hotel is at a great location, which is about ten minutes from the attractions. There are supermarkets and fast food restaurants around, which is very convenient. The breakfast is also very good! The young lady at the front desk is quite gentle.

Very good location of the hotel! It is quite central and everything can be accessed by walking. Also plenty of restaurants in the surrounding areas. The hotel in itself is nice enough, comfy beds and the kitchen helps when you don’t want to go eat outside or have longer stays. Note that there is no air con on the rooms (or at least ours) so we stayed the window opened when we could during the day. The hotel staff is really helpful and accommodating! We didn’t prebook the parking but we managed to have a spot anyways! The hotel can offer breakfast but it is in a different location (we haven’t tried it): there is a costa coffee place right across the street, which is also convenient. Definitely a recommend when you are a tourist and want to do visit everything!

I thought this hotel was very fine. The Breakfast was delicious and very well prepared. The beds so comfortable and this staff very helpful and friendly. Nearby is a beautiful church and a charming neighborhood with many cafe's, restaurants and bars. It is not particularly touristic, just a charming local neighborhood. To get to the more tourist areas you can travel by the simple to use subway just 2 or 3 stops. For comfort, you really can't beat Hotel Anna!
