I went there for a few days over Christmas/New Year as I have done for several years now (apart from during the pandemic restriction time). It really is a hidden gem of a place I discovered first as a recommendation for somewhere to eat. The food is excellent. I would recommend booking to avoid disappointment especially during Easter and the summer months. The chef Steve (one of the hosts) presents a varied menu of delicious, well presented meals, which leaves a person truly spoiled for choice - the best way to deal with the issue of working your way through the menu is to eat there several times, especially if staying there. Tracey (the other host) and front of house, is very welcoming with a warm and bubbly personality. Accommodation- the rooms are comfortable and tastefully decorated, all with beautiful ensuite facilities. The beds are inviting and a good night's sleep is assured. Views from the rooms are of rolling hills and fields. It is ideal for walkers exploring the area. This 16th century country inn is located in a tranquil hamlet outside Bridport. It has all that you require for a perfect break away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, yet it is easy to get to local towns by car. This makes a good base for sightseeing with plenty to explore in the surrounding areas. This is a lovely place, well run by a couple who clearly know what they are doing and do it very well with great staff, atmosphere as well as the fabulous food and accommodation. It cannot be faulted as it really does tick all boxes.
