I took my wife here for her 60th, amazing staff receptionist charlotte was warm and knowledgable, very kind giving us a token due to birthday. The infinity pool is amazing warm clean, Shrigley would make much more money if they served drinks while in the pool, but we would still be there now. The rooms are adiquate they are clean, the shower's are amazing, Dinning for evenning meal again was excellent, the service is 11/10 and I have been in a number of Spa the meal cost were really well priced with excellent food. Breakfast in the morning self service again pleanty to choose from and again tasty with great choice. It is a amazing spa with the ability toplay gold or have a number of treatments, and well priced, I will return there

Damp. Dirt. Stains. Dust. Moved rooms 3 times to One slightly More clean which had a wedding below it and music stopped at 1:45 . Awful. Breakfast hall was filthy. Requested a refund. Staff aware of the issue and very helpful to be fair. Spa is wonderful however

The first room we were given was filthy. Bin had not been emptied since the last guest, hairs in the bed, what looks like animal poo on the floor and under wardrobe, dead flies and food under bed, drinks stains etc not wiped from surfaces, urine on the underside of toilet seat, piece of plastic rubbish on the floor. Spoke to duty manager who said housekeeping would sort it. They made the bed. So called reception again and complained, duty manager came and gave us a new room and said he had checked this himself. The room was cleaner, but had hairs suspiciously/seemingly placed on the pillow. Toothpaste still in the sink, make up powder on the windowsill, limescale all over the shower and rusty bath where the metal studs had gone missing. We were warned to be fair that this was not a refurbished room, which is fine and can accept the rust in the bath (although it was very off putting, we didn't even use the shower in the end), however, why was the limescale build up not removed, or the toothpaste? That is a spray and wipe job. So the second room was not clean either. There was a wedding party so music was booming until around midnight, then people singing until 1.30am and then shouting in the corridors. Not exactly what you expect at a 4 star spa hotel. We couldn't close the window as it was so warm, and in the morning the towel rail was on red hot and we were unable to turn it off so the room was boiling in the morning from early on. Mattress so soft you're at risk of falling out of it! The spa itself is nice, although does attract hen parties etc so not exactly relaxing. Pretty sure there was mould on the steam room floor. We had lunch which was nice, but the barman had a sassy attitude for absolutely no reason and wasn't fond of using please and thank you. Happy to let me use a dirty tray to carry the drinks, not exactly 4 star hotel vibes. Returned to the bar after the spa to get an evening meal. Huge queue, only one barman serving who was doing his best. Once we got near the front of the queue, we were told food was no longer being served and to go to the restaurant, but we had already heard there were people waiting over an hour for their food. Reluctantly we went to the restaurant, where there was no staff member to greet you, guests just lingering with drinks in their hands waiting for someone to see them to a table etc. Didn't appear to be much food out on the tables and we weren't prepared to spend all night waiting so we left. Breakfast was ok, but again, no staff member to greet you and check your booking, so we just seated ourselves in the end. Overall - terrible. I will be emailing a complaint with the above as I want my money back for the room, which was £198!
