The room was very clean and it was a nice size. It came with a full kitchen and full-size refrigerator. It’s about 10 minutes driving distance from coconut beach and purple turtle Beach. The staff was also very kind. I didn’t spend a lot of time at this hotel as I was out exploring the island, but it gave me somewhere comfortable to sleep at night, which I greatly appreciated. It was also reasonably priced. It’s not in the capital which is about an hour away so if you want to be closer to the port, this is not an ideal location. If you don’t mind being in a quiet remote area amongst majority of the locals, this is the perfect spot to do so.

Excellent staff who helped to ensure our stay was pleasant. Room was very spacious with a full kitchen/ living room attached to our bedroom. There is a Chinese restaurant attached and there are a number of other eating options in Portsmouth. Beach is a bout 15 mins walk and supermarket only 5 mins away. Would recommend as a great place to stay and tour the north of Dominica.

1) Receptionists- Cynthia and Valda are very helpful. They offered invaluable information, checked on bus schedule and fare for me. 2) Owners- Steven and Susan. They run the business well. They pay attention to details. I can see their labor of love in the design and amenities of the room. 3) 2 - welcoming bottle of waters in the room. 4) Best restaurant in town. I saw many restaurants there were nothing more than a shack but this restaurant is a real restaurant. You don’t need to eat anywhere else. 5) River next the property . I saw Steven took out his fishing rod to fish there. It is very cool. 6) Power outage during my stay but no problem. Because Steven has a power generator. If you stay in other hotel, you will sweat but not in Riverside Hotel so you can rest assured that you have air cond. This is the best stay to stay in Portsmouth. Don’t rush. Spend a few days there and enjoy the ambience.

Friendly proprietors, very clean. Nice big twin bed room and kitchen / sitting area. Beds so hard that I had to check that it had a mattress, not just a box spring. Shower hard to figure out, couldn't get more than a trickle of hot water. Rum punch in the restaurant stingy with the rum... It's worth driving 15 minutes to the restaurant at Toucari, Keepin it Real.
