Beautiful hotel absolutely stunning scenery! The food wasn’t great, considering the price point which is a bad reflection of Dominican cuisine in all honesty. The breakfast buffet was the worst I’ve ever been to in all my years of travelling and I always feel so embarrassed to send things back or not finish food as it is rude in my culture but both times I went to the breakfast buffet I was extremely disappointed only managed to eat some yogurt and fruits! Staff was amazing super sweet very polite and helpful.

The intercontinental hotel in Portsmouth was a beautiful hotel. The view and scenery around the grounds was breathtaking and just watching the waves from the ocean was just so relaxing…. The only hiccup I had after spending all that money on the hotel a night they could at least offer a free meal and not be charged….I had breakfast and everything was very delicious and enjoyable The rooms were very clean, bed comfortable staff were very friendly, polite and very helpful I will definitely come back again in the future because I had a great stay there

This is not a five star hotel, let me start off by saying that. Is it the second nicest hotel on the island? Sure. But you dont just get to claim 5 stars without having the experience & service to match it. The hotel itself is pretty and the aesthetics are nice but there are major elements that are sub par. We came during low season so the rates we paid perhaps reflected that and the rest of the experience as well. First off, I paid for a suite with a private plunge pool. At check in, it was not communicated to me that my room was not available (for supposed construction which was nowhere in site once my friend and I walked around the entire property). I came back to the front desk after i settled into my room to find out what happened. They claimed there was construction around the room I had paid for and upgraded me to a better room. Except I would have not paid the price I paid for the room I was given, and would have much rather saved my money and gotten a regular room had I been told or even offered another option. I even said this to the front desk lady and was not heard. Ask me how many times I sat in the living room in the suite I was given? 0 times. You should not have a room on your website if it is not available. The mini bar in the room was and is completely empty. You get 2 waters in your room and that is it. There are some weird loose screws in my shower since I got here. And the pillows are the absolute worst. My friend told me she had to pile all 4 of her pillows on top of each other to be able to sleep. They literally flatten into absolutely nothing. And yes, the rooms are very cold and it is difficult to warm them up. The service at the pool is non existent. What “5 star hotel” does not have someone bring their guests some ice and water when they sit by the pool? We had to bring our own water down from our rooms every day. You set up your own towels on the chairs and on the second day, they ran out of towels and no one replenished them. And if you need to get out of the sun, you cannot possibly move the insanely heavy umbrellas and there is no one to help you. So you have to just be moving chairs throughout the day to have shade. The food was NOT good. Breakfast is manageable since you can have eggs made and get by with fresh fruit but the rest of the breakfast buffet is bizarre (hot tuna, stews, salad?). If you are a healthy eater be prepared - lunch menu is all fried food. It was ridiculous. You are on a Caribbean island known for fresh fish, put a fresh fish option the menu simply grilled. Also, Out of 4 nights we stayed here, tonight, the last night we dined, was the only night the food was finally good. Robert, I believe head chef, was in the kitchen, and what a difference that made. I actually enjoyed the minestrone soup, lamb chops from their pop up menu and so wish the rest of the days had been like this. Other restaurants on property closed due to low amount of visitors, even

This is the most amazing hotel ever. The grounds are fantastic and the views all around are spectacular. The room was perfect and spotless. The staff are very friendly and exceptional. We have stayed at this hotel twice. The only issue this time round were the cats. Where have they come from? They were all around the outside part of the restaurant. This made our dining experience very uncomfortable, as the cats came around each time looking to be fed. This also meant it felt like we were in a cheap city hotel in Europe, with ferrel cats in the area. If you have an allergy, or do not like cats its can be quite unpleasant. In the end we preferred to eat all meals inside, which was a shame because it meant missing the wonderful atmosphere outside. Apart from that we would have loved to rate the experience as a 5, but unfortunately had to go with 4 stars. However, we would still recommend this hotel as a definite place to stay in Dominica.

Wonderful 3 night stay as part of a week long visit to Dominica with my family. Resort is stunning. Service was wonderful. A couple easy hiking trails that start on property, including a short walk to lovely Bell Hall Beach. Although it was clear the resort was far from full capacity, everything was full service. We divided our Dominica visit between two parts of the island, but we realized we could have done the whole week based out of here.

You have no choice but to fly via Inter Carribean Airline to visit Dominica. On both my journey to Dominica in February 2025 and back to London last week, my luggage was delayed. This is because the plane is too small to carry all luggage for all passengers. This is very annoying and unprofessional, as the person taking the bookings must be aware of how many people have paid for a seat and how much luggage has been checked in for each person. Looks like the airlines Dominica and Barbados need more competent staff, that can work the computers, as these mistakes should not be made and someone has made them. My neice also had an issue when she paid for her seat last month on Inter Carribean to be told at Barbados that the plane was full and their was an overbooking of 8 seats!! She and the other people had to be placed in a hotel in Barbados overnight and placed on the next flight to Dominica in the morning. Either the staff who take the bookings at Inter Carribean are making the mistakes and need training or their computers need updating. I will not be travelling on Inter Carribean Airline ever again. Let's pray Dominica's larger airport will be built and opened very soon.

Our stay at the Intercontinental Cabrits was one of the best we ever had. Spending the mornings walking around the meticulously kept and beautiful grounds of the resort, to then explore this delightful island, it's beautiful waterfalls, beaches, flora and fauna. This would be followed by superb dinners, either on the resort, or in one of the many beach cafe's. Usually we followed this up with a cocktail on the resort, created by Brad or Orlando. The staff were all very welcoming, helpful and warm, and we are both very grateful to all of them for making our stay truly wonderful.
