The house is an easy 5 minute walk from the centre of Portree with all its restaurants and facilities, yet is situated in a leafy tucked away location. The upstairs living area is light, bright and open plan. The sea is a 2 minute stroll from the house. Location, location, location!
The property really is a 5 min walk from town. That was the best part. The info and photos online are dated and because that set expectations, our initial impression was disappointing - which planted a seed of doubt. Thankfully, the TV, mattresses and towels were all fine. Our stay would have also been enhanced by any kind of general info letter. We had to get in touch with the host for the wi-fi code and figure out the systems for ourselves (i.e. the heating -- but once we figured it out, it worked well). They do explain the tricky front door and that's critical. But, they'd do well to upgrade the living room furniture (and all pillows, upstairs and down) or retake the photos to more accurately reflect the unit now. I'd still recommend it for the location though.
