We recently visited Splendido Mare in Portofino with a group of eight people around 5:56 PM, looking forward to enjoying a drink on the beautiful terrace. To our dismay, we were turned away, being told that the terrace was already closed. This was quite disappointing, especially after we had just enjoyed a lovely walk around the area. What made the situation even more frustrating was that, just five minutes later, we noticed other guests already seated on the terrace, enjoying their aperitifs. When I approached the same staff member who had previously refused us, I was told that these guests were staying at the hotel. This experience left us feeling quite perplexed and disappointed by the lack of hospitality. It’s hard to understand why we were treated in this manner, and it certainly marred what was otherwise a beautiful evening in Portofino.

Wow! What an incredible stay of a lifetime. The staff is EXTRAORDINARY. We would love to shout out especially Cici, and the young brown haired gentleman at the front desk(forgot his name) but they were two incredible people. So friendly. Always accommodating us, making our stay magical. Always greeting us and helping us with questions, so attentive. They made this experience for me and my husband a forever memory. We will be back again and again and will tell all of our friends about it. Fabulous location, incredible staff, incredible memories, they went above and beyond any other hotel I could ever imagine. Gelato, complimentary boat ride, beach club, service was like no other hotel I have ever experienced! FABULOUS! If you have the opportunity to go here- please do you will not be disappointed! So many surprises they throw in at no extra cost as well. All around AMAZING.

My wife and I enjoyed three nights at Splendido Mare and appreciated the access to the small town, restaurants, Castile Brown and other attractions. Our suite was well appointed and what would expect from a Belmond hotel including a terrace overlooking the bay. Out stay included access to Splendido up on the hill and to the Bagni Fiore beach club, where we ended up spending two afternoons and were well taken care of by a dedicated member of the Spelndido team. Highly recommend and will likely return on another trip.
