The hotel offers a quick walk into downtown Portofino. The outdoor beach area was very nice – it even had a private bar, which was great to sit and watch the large yachts come and go. The breakfast was very nice and the cooked to order food was also very good. Sadly for spending $1100 per night, the rooms were in pretty sad shape and the floor coverings were flat out strange grass cloth. To spend this much on a hotel room, it was disappointing that there were not more amenities such as robes, larger bathroom, a working safe and more modern facilities. We stayed three nights and in hindsight, probably could’ve stayed in Saint Margarita and taken the ferry to Portofino and Ravello …and had a better hotel experience and spent more time in a area with a greater selection of restaurants and activities. Unless you’re in Portofino for a specific event or wedding, you could easily visit this cute village in an afternoon.
