Résidence Marina di Santa Giulia

Beautiful place, but facilities to be improved Beautiful place, beach is amazing and the residence set up is very pretty. Personnel was also nice and caring. Things to be improved are the facilities: We found the room pretty dirty, with small bits of trash and hair around. There was no soap, shampoo nor trash bags, which you would expect for this price level.

We stayed 3 nights in our mini villa 431 in early June, to relax over our wedding anniversary in the middle of a 2 week tour of Corsica. We loved the stunning view over Santa Giulia Bay when dining on our terrace. Fixtures were modern and there was a good selection of equipment and plenty of plates etc for self catering, without having to wash up after each meal. Great to have a dishwasher and be provided with starter kit of 3 dishwasher tablets, a dish scourer, tea towel and mini washing up liquid. There was a tall fridge and 2 electric rings for cooking, plus microwave (no actual oven). There's a clothes airer on the terrace for drying towels, swim gear etc. Beware it's a very steep climb (15mins if going up) between this section of villas where 431 was located (just above shared pool) and reception (half way down) and then the beach and restaurants a little further down at the bottom of the road. We drove to reception then walked to beach from there one eve to dine out (Santa Giulia Plage restaurant, attached to the neighbouring Michellin starred restaurant, was very good with more reasonable prices than it's neighbour!). Villas are spread over a wide area of hillside in different zones and we didn't know where we would be until we checked in - we booked via *********** so suggest you contact the resort direct if you have specific requirements. No hairdryer or bathroom soap or shower gel provided, so ensure you bring these. The resort has responded to my *********** review on this point to advise that hairdryers are available from reception, but this was not advised to us on check-in which would have been helpful. I DID ask on check-in whether WiFi was available in our villa and was advised yes, and was given the code for that area and told it was also the WiFi for the swimming pool area. However the reality was that the WiFi only had one chip from the very front of the terrace occasionally - the code I think really only works when in the swimming pool area itself. I saw a review from last year which mentioned the option of paying 3 euros a day for a pocket WiFi, but this was not offered to us, so not sure if this is still an option? Worth asking if it is important to you, but we ended up paying roaming charges on our mobiles. The villa was rather bland/sterile in style but the great view compensated somewhat. The bedroom at the rear was particularly dark (given cliff outside window and the furnishings very plain. A bright modern print on the bedroom wall (eg a blue sea scene) and lounge would do wonders, but small things really. Didn't try pool (which seemed popular with families from what we could hear below us) as we only stayed 3 nights and loved exploring stunning local beaches like Palombaggia and Rondinara (Santa Giulia was busier and had more seaweed but lovely for dining out, as above). Lovely and quietly place

The one bedroom appartment is comfortable for 4 people. Located at 950m up hill from the beach, under the sun the walk was very hard to do with the kids. No internet connection available on the appartment! No hairdryer available neither. Only 3 capsules were provided during the 4 night stay (no greca available). Lot of mosquitos everywhere you go in Corsica. Last night water went off from 19:00 pm until next morning at 8:00 am on the whole Porto Vecchio area.
