Pestana Colombos Premium Club All Inclusive

The most relaxing holiday ever. Pools and grounds very clean and well kept. This hotel is not 5 star as classed but still a lovely stay. Food was okay but very much the same over the two weeks . Deserts were lovely. Sun beds always available around the pool but need updating as they were very uncomfortable. Beach was beautiful but the sea was quite rough and very few people were able to swim. Sun beds were charged for on the beach and could only have in multiples of two, so three of us had to pay for four sun beds. Entertainment was poor, non existing some evenings and always after 10pm which is very late to wait around. 4x4 tour was a lovely few hours out. Two weeks in this hotel is so relaxing if the weather is good.

My husband and I spent a week here from the 18th Sep. We originally booked into the Porto Santo hotel but were told on arrival we had been upgraded to a pool villa within the Columbus hotel next door. Initially we were really pleased to have an upgraded room within a villa block with just 3 other bedrooms each having shared access to lounge, kitchen and private pool. Although as there was shared facilities avaliable we did later feel that our room was perhaps a bit smaller than others in the main hotels due to no other lounge / seating area other than the balcony in the room. Cannot fault the hotel rooms or grounds for cleanliness, room cleaned daily. All ammenities are within walking distance at the two hotels. Choice of pool bar, evening bar and buffet resturant at both hotels so you can decide which suits you best or try both options to get a bit of variety. There are queues at the pool and evening bars for drinks as people have previously said. This can get a bit frustrating but you get used to it. We never had a problem queuing for the buffet resturants. Weather was really good, hotter than I expected during the day, it can start out cloudy but cleared by lunch time to have a hot afternoon. We did have rain a couple of mornings but again cleared for the afternoon. The staff are all friendly and do their best to accomodate your needs even though they do work long shifts and perhaps under staffed. The entertainment team are surprisingly good and do a range of shows on the evening plus live music in the bars before their shows. Overall we really enjoyed the holiday, good food and drinks, good weather, comfortable room and a relaxing break. Would recommend this resort to couples and younger families.

Firstly, this hotel is unsuitable for disabled people,although the bathrooms are very suitable The self service restaurant is very poor and guests are limited to beer or wine at mealtime. We tried the poolside food area but found flies on the food. The speciality restaurants are at the hotel next-door and although they offer a complimentary buggy, it still involves a lengthy walk to reception and the same on the return. Fine for the fit and able., We tried the maderian restaurant on one occasion,but it was just about passable. We ate out for most days as there are some very good restaurants nearby and very reasonable. My impression is that the hotel was built with the intension of combining the facilities of the hotel next-door. Everything was cheap money saving products and produce. On a positive side we fell in love with the island and the people. We are planning to return in the winter but not to pestana.

We are habitués at Pestana Colombos and at Pestana hotels in general. People say you don't go back to a place where you were happy. But we come back every year and we don't regret it. On the contrary, there is always something that makes us want to come back even more! It's a great hotel in the "paradise" island! Very friendly staff, great rooms and in the all inclusive option it's difficult to offer better diversity. You have to make your own experience and I'm sure you'll want to come back!

We switched to this hotel from their next door property. Rooms are beautiful and large. The staff here are really on top of things. The pool area is gorgeous although not a lot of swimmers due to water temperature. Don’t love a buffet although there is an omelette or eggs to order area in the back which is the best breakfast option. They have a great assortment of cheeses.

It was really great the experience, Just a downside of the rooms, I feel they need an update/more maintenance as some of my mates that I was with they were definitely not worth 5 star hotel. Other then that I recommend, the whole experience is beautiful to rest up. The view is just so awesome, the best is for you to see for yourself.
