This is my first time staying in a youth hostel. There is a restaurant downstairs, so it’s a pity that there is no kitchen in the shared space. However, you can ask for hot water from them. I stayed in a bunk bed for 12 people, but when I arrived, it was just me and one other person. People, so the two of us lived in a large house. We were so lucky. The toilet here was also very clean. I slept here for two nights without any problems. It was just that it was a bit difficult to find a parking space nearby. There was one when I got up in the morning. Coffee, fresh milk and oat milk. The decoration of the whole store is very retro. You can go there in the morning before the restaurant is open.

My stay at the KEX hotel was phenomenal, at first i wasn’t expecting the rr to be a shared bathroom on every floor but it wasn’t an issue at all. Staff was very helpful in many areas. There are many cool things this stay had to offer such as complimentary coffee and tea, a snazzy photobooth and even a restaurant within, truly had an amazing stay!

The KEX Portland was amazing. I stayed for 3 nights in a 4 mixed bunk bed room.
The beds were perfect size and quite comfortable, I’d recommend adding another pillow but either way I slept through the night. The comforter was thick and perfect to keep you warm thru the night.
The storage below the beds contained plenty of space for all your belongings, didn’t know what to do with all of it. It’s a great space to get to know the others in the room and have a good time. Showers/Bathrooms were fantastic, the water heated up quickly so you didn't have to wait around or it to get warm and they provide shampoo, conditioner, body wash if you forgot yours.
I did not try the amenities except the bar. Each night I indulged in beverages, the bartenders were amazing and provided amazing conversations thru the night. The last night I finally had a Cesar Salad and Steak, let me tell you that some of the best food I’ve had. That place is always busy at night with locals coming for drinks, highly recommend enjoying some drinks.
Excellent hotel and staff, plus its centrally located in my opinion to allow easy access to everything around Portland.

The moment we stepped in we were greeted and had someone helping us check in. Everyone I saw at the desk was very helpful. Great location. Bus stops in both corners. Easy to get around from.

The check-in was great, I'd come on the train and was quite tired and Christian at the front desk had my bed all set. Giving great recommendations for local food around town all within a short distance including the great Pizzeria, a diner, and a local Brewery. My room was spotless as were the bathrooms were for great tile pattern on the floor. The bar area also had very old wood herringbone pattern on the floor a wonderful attentive staff and a fantastic happy hour. Oysters abounded

The over all aesthetics was amazing and comfortable. The hotel furnace system was loud. a constant humm.
