We had a fantastic experience at Cascada. The spa areas were relaxing, the hotel was new /modern and the location is convenient to walk to many restaurants and shops. The front desk was especially helpful. We will definitely plan a trip back.

I don’t usually write online reviews, but my recent stay at Cascada absolutely set the bar for what a hotel and spa experience should be. It really stood out in every way, so I wanted to share. For me, the best way to describe it is by looking at three things: the layout, the atmosphere, and the people. The layout is exceptional. Every space — from the guest rooms to the thermal spa to the common areas — is beautifully designed. It’s compact but so well thought out that it actually feels spacious. The flow between spaces is effortless. For example, you can walk from your room to the spa without ever feeling like you’re crossing through “public” space in your robe — it’s all designed to make you feel comfortable and at home. Our two-story suite had an amazing view of Portland and was perfectly quiet. Each area — the bedroom, living room, and bathroom — felt distinct, yet everything you might need was right there. Honestly, you could spend the entire stay just relaxing in the room. The atmosphere is another thing that really stands out. Everything feels calm, warm, and welcoming. The lighting, the soft background sounds, even the subtle scents — it’s all done with intention. The whole environment invites you to slow down and unwind. You immediately feel like you’ve stepped away from the outside world into a space that’s peaceful and restorative. And then there are the people, who truly make the experience special. Every staff member I encountered was kind, professional, and eager to help. I want to especially recognize my member representative, Dustin, who is outstanding at what he does. Every time I’ve had a question or request, his response has been prompt, thoughtful, and right on point. He somehow makes you feel like you’re his only guest, even though I’m sure he’s juggling a lot behind the scenes. That level of care and professionalism really shines through across the entire hotel — from the front desk to the restaurant to the spa. I know this review is on the longer side, but it’s written with genuine appreciation. Cascada is truly an asset to Portland. I’ve already started recommending it to my colleagues and clients who visit the city — because it perfectly captures what makes Portland such a special place. Matt B.

An incredible place - part tiny house-like futuristic rooms, part luxurious spa, part phenomenal restaurant. Kind staff, delightful oasis.

It was exceptional! Clean atmosphere, high mellow friendly energy from the staff. Beautiful place and it smells lovely. Just what us Portlandians need💛 I’m already counting down the days until I come back!

Thermal baths and spa treatment were amazing! But the hotel could be as equally plush and isn't quite there. Stayed three nights in a sky loft. Mine had a tight spiral staircase, a tricked out kitchenette and lovely balcony. But the loveseat was stiff, and when made into the bed for my daughter, left no where for anyone to sit. Why isn't there a chair down there??? The bed upstairs was very hard as well and the pillows all lumpy and flat. It was an uncomfortable three nights and I came home with a tweaked out back. Also wish hotel guests had access to the atrium pool and outdoor area considering the pricey room charges I racked up. It was a bitter pill to have to spend an additional $50 just to go sit by the pool or go in the hot tub. 5 stars for waters, 3 for hotel.

Amazing experience. The outdoor area was closed the second day - with it raining. The downstairs sanctuary was so relaxing. Will be back.

I made the reservation stating I was a VERY light sleeper and they put me in a room overlooking the tram on 5th street and as there is a luxury mall on the corner is was quite disturbing. I don't really remember much about the place otherwise, seemed fine. I don't think they (or most hotels in the USA) read the comments in reservations - and I called as well. Staff seemed like nice people (as most do in Portland) but no able to be of any help in a difficulty.

This is a stunning hotel in a unique part of town. I just can’t give it 5 stars given the experience received for the price paid. The room itself was clean and had all the amenities. However, for a luxury hotel, I expected more from the bedding. The mattress was extremely firm and the pillows were flat. The thermal springs experience left a lot to be desired. It was beautiful but overcrowded and there was very little explanation about how to best navigate the spaces. I would have appreciated a more laid back private experience. All in all, nice place. I wouldn’t choose to stay there again though given the cost.
