Tivoli Alvor

3 1/2 out of 5. We’ve just returned from a family break and firstly we did have a lovely time. Food and drink are good, especially in the bookable restaurants. It was all warm/hot with lots to choose from. If you are a beige food eater you will eat the same food every day. If not there’s lots of choice and themes even in the buffet. Cocktails are individually made and taste good. You can also get resort credit to eat at a local restaurant one night of your stay, again ask as this wasn’t promoted on check in. The train into Alvor is very handy as is the short walk over the bridge to a beautiful beach. We also made use of the free pass to zoomarine so make sure you ask about this on check in if you stay longer than a week. We got Ubers there and back with a total of €45 which felt reasonable. The facilities are great. Lots of pools, sports activities and wellness centre. Staff are really friendly and helpful. We are enjoyed chatting with Habib in the Roastic restaurant. What could be better - the pools state they are heated to 26 degrees and this is the main reason we booked this hotel. They are not consistently heated and therefore get cold quickly. This was really disappointing and our little girl could only manage 20 minutes in the pool at a time. Almost like boiling a kettle in the morning and expecting it to be hot in the evening. The booking system for a la carte restaurants also needs to be looked at. Queuing for 45 minutes to be offered limited availability is not what I’d expect from a 5 star hotel. I’d image this along with the bar queues are much longer in school holidays.

Just leaving this beautiful hotel, rooms very comfortable and spacious. We had ground floor room which had a lovely garden with sun loungers. Buffet restaurant had plenty of choice just wish food could have been a bit warmer. Italian and Grill restaurants both very good. 5 minute train ride to Alvor which picks you up at hotel runs every hour. Beautiful fishing village just visits were ruined by the rain. My son who is 11 was a bit bored think they could do more activities around the pool maybe they do in the summer months. Not sure! Overall lovely place

We had a great experience at carosello restaurant served by Felipe Cunha. He went above and beyond to cater to our needs and he recommended the nicest pasta dish I’ve had in a long time. Can’t wait to come back. The service was prompt and they are very child friendly.

Lukas Negrelli helped me in a time of need. I couldn’t eat as I was feeling unwell - heavily pregnant. And he went above and beyond to bring me a meal from a different restaurant. Such a kind gesture and did it with a smile on his face. What a wonderful holiday made better by a lovely kind gesture.

Really enjoyed my week here, it was quiet enough even so it’s a familiar resort. Good price and service. I recommend the yoga class with Tanya on Thursdays morning, it will give you an uplifting for the day. Claudia from the wellness centre spa was extremely helpful!

Second visit in 8months. It was a newly acquired hotel and they have made some changes. Good and bad. To start it’s an excellent hotel and we were lucky enough to get the same room in block 10. Close to the buffet restaurant and the adult pool. Were we glad of the adult section because hotel was full of half term kids. Hotel has improved by having a bar at adults pool with waiter service. The new restaurant booking system doesn’t work well and needs adjusting. You had to queue up days before around lunchtime to get booked which wasn’t good if you were at beach or elsewhere. Another strange change that’s been made is with the all inclusive drink package, this trip you could still get white rum (although for 2 days they ran out) but you couldn’t get spiced or dark rum without a premium wristband. No problem before and I call it strange cos white, dark and spiced rum all cost the same. Food in Rustic steak restaurant was lovely. Cleaning staff were fantastic so many kids spilling food and cleaned in no time. All other staff were great I’m just impressed with cleaners. Would return again Ps. Use Uber as it’s cheaper

Dinner at Carosello was awesome. Delicious food and the service was perfect. Thanks to Carlos Pinto for the awesome job as waiter. He was really kind and attentive. He played a lot with our 2 year old son that usually is very shy. We recommend the hotel and we hope to come back.
