We read the review below and were a bit concerned. But, Dolly could not have been nicer, she helped with all our questions (not bags😂) breakfast was good and there are some good food options near by. But the best thing is the location it’s great, the villa is designed well and it is amazing, views are awesome from the deck and pool. It coukd def be a film set.

I almost hate to write this review because I want a room to be available next time we visit, but that just wouldn’t be fair to our wonderful host, Dolly. The house and setting are just beautiful. Each morning we were served a great breakfast overlooking a view of the rocks and ocean. We could walk to several restaurants on the beach from the casa and also get out to some great trails along the coast! Dolly attended to our every need! This is an amazing home and we were so lucky to stay there!

This is a very unique property with a lovely hostess, Dolly. It’s small and intimate with only room for 5 families. The view from the terrace is spectacular and the beach is convenient. The rooms are very clean, large and comfortable. You can tell that Dolly takes pride in providing a good experience for guests. She cares!! There are however a lot of protocols which is the reason for 4 stars instead of 5. Every guest has 2 lounge chairs with cushions, 2 chairs without cushions and a large umbrella for shade, which is very necessary. However, cushions are picked up at 7pm but it’s light until close to 9pm. We wanted to sit outside much longer but the wooden lounge & chairs were not comfortable for me without the cushions. We ended up going back to our room earlier than we wanted where the most comfortable place to sit was the bed. Also, you had to order your breakfast a day in advance including the time you wanted to eat. We found this a bit difficult as we sometimes want to sleep in or not. It would have been easier to have a window of time where you could get up when you wanted. I would have liked to use the pool but it was too cold for me, although my husband enjoyed it. I don’t think it was heated other than by the sun, but that is me and might not be an issue for others. All in all, this is a very nice place and offers a less crowded experience than the hotels in a super busy tourist area. I would recommend it for that and the very personal attention from Dolly.

A horrible experience we will not soon forget! When we arrived and parked the car, there was a woman of about 90 waiting in the parking lot for us, obviously not to help with luggage. The description of the room was misleading, and we were disappointed to pass every sea view room, to arrive at a room in the back (The "Garden Room.") which faced what was essentially an empty, ill tended, overgrown lot. The door and all the windows were wide open when we arrived and there was a definite smell of linseed oil. Apparently, all the wood in the place, including the common area, is treated with linseed oil. The smell was not good, but we were tired from the trip, it was evening and we were hungry, etc., so we settled in, hoping the smell, which had become terribly strong, would dissipate. Windows needed to be closed against mosquitos and when we woke the next morning, we were nauseous, head achy, with the taste of the oil on our tongues. The beds (twins pushed together) were shocking! Layers of some old material covering ancient mattresses. We informed the woman, who apparently is the mother of the owner, that we must leave and explained why. She put my husband on the phone with her son, who sounded reasonable, except for the fact that he asked me not to go through American Express for the refund. He said we should trust him to take our bank account number and he would deposit the refund directly, when he received it from ***********. I refused, of course, disputed the payment with American Express, and was ultimately reimbursed. All this, after the woman became abusive to me. A little added information: the pool is advertised as "heated." The woman explained that there is "no point heating it because it is not covered at night, so all the heat is lost." What ever happened to Truth in Advertising?

We can't say enough good things about Dolly and her beautiful guest house in Portimao. The location: pristine. The rooms: well appointed. The hostess: the best. The view: breath taking. The service: top notch. Dolly made us feel at home and shared all she had with us, including great stories of her family and house history. We WILL be back!

We stayed in the Casa Tres Palmeiras and didn't want to leave! In fact we extended our stay and are excited to book our visit again this year. It's honestly the most special place we stayed in the Algarve. This is the b and b that everyone is looking for but is so hard to find. Impeccable cleanliness, classic but not fussy decor, luxurious sheets and towels, abundant 5 star breakfast on the terrace over the ocean, a gorgeous terrace that will make you hate to move, and a charming hostess that is so helpful and warn. I can't say enough about this unicorn of a guesthouse. And oh yes, that view! Breathtaking

We had a wonderful stay here in November outside of the tourist season. Beautifully designed mid-century modern Algarve style residence with four rooms all around a pristine fish-shaped pool and overlooking the Praia do Alemao and the adjacent Praia do Vau. Breakfast is provided on the terrace and extras are available on an honor basis in the well stocked salon. Furnishings are a little old fashioned but very comfortable and quiet. So different from staying in a high rise hotel in one of the big resort towns. The resort is run by a lovely hostess, Dolly, who checked in with us for an chat every day. She is a sweetheart and made our stay extra special in every way. There is a nice hike along the cliffs to the west of the house and I would also recommend the boardwalk in nearby Alvor
