We booked a room at this hotel en route, 31st December, whilst travelling through Normandy. Booking was fine and we arrived late afternoon. We admired the menu, on display in the hotel reception as we checked in, and we were advised that ‘this was the menu for the meal that evening, New Year’s Eve, and there was also a band! After settling in, we went to the bar for a few drinks before eating. At that point we then asked where the restaurant was and were pointed to a door to a path which led across the hotel campus. Got to the restaurant and a member of staff asked our names and consulted a list. When we couldn’t be found he asked if we had booked. We hadn’t and were then told that the restaurant ‘had been booked out for 2 weeks’. We asked if there was anywhere else we could eat, but there was nowhere else in the hotel. Nothing was even offered by way of a snack, but blank looks. We returned to reception and a rather apologetic member of staff said that he would have given us a lift somewhere else, but he was the only staff member working. A generous gesture, but the only glimpse of any sympathy otherwise. Some points for the hotel: Why were we not informed, either at the point of booking, or at check in that the restaurant was fully booked? If we had known earlier we would have gone elsewhere. Why was there no alternative offered to guests staying at the hotel for a meal that evening? This hotel is slightly rusticated and there are no restaurants within walking distance. An apology would have been appreciated by someone slightly more senior than a receptionist desperately trying to think on his feet. Full marks, incidentally, to the bilingual staff - our French was certainly not up to this. Altogether a thoroughly disappointing and somewhat disgraceful performance from a hotel which should have done far better - the level of service was desperately short of a bare minimum, compounded by the fact that this meant we were unable to eat on New Year’s Eve.

It smelled everywhere. It was very cold and the room temperature was controlled from the reception. It was so disappointing from mercure

This is a really good hotel. Recpetion area, bar and restaurant all excellent. The menu in the restaurant was fantastic with an awesome display and selection of cheese. Food and wine quality was great. Rooms were good - bathroom a little on the small side and rooms a little tight but that’s only because there were 3 of us in the room. Staff are exceptionally good, very welcoming. Location is also perfect. A short drive to Port en Bessin which is a lovely town. We went there for breakfast as the €20 charge each in the hotel, I thought was a little steep. And good location for visiting all o f the DDay locations and also Bayeux. Would highly recommend.

This is a hotel on the golfcourse which are worth to play, the hotel is outdated. The corridors are very dark with little lighting. The rooms are reasonable in size, the bathroom is rather small with very poor lighting, difficult to shave and for the ladies to make up. The shower is in the plastic bathtub which is extremely slippery, the shower gel is located at the other side of the tub, so you have to move from shower to bathgel, this is very dangerous, so take care that you don’t slip. The breakfast was ok nothing special but good. An excellent golfhotel but take care, The restaurant in the golfclub is not our choice, not expensive but not special at all.

Good hotel if you are passing through or golfing - course is connected to hotel. Very clean and well run. Rooms a bit tight and no real view, but bathroom was ok. Pool area is clean and well kept with some trees around - perfectly fine for getting some rays. The breakfast buffet is very good and staff are friendly and welcoming. Dinner and lunch were good, though the dinner was a bit on the light side for the price. Airco in the room was useful in Aug. though it was difficult to get it to regulate above chill zone. Small bar in keeping with the hotel.

This hotel was selected by Trafalgar as part of a Northern France tour. Stayed two nights. Room rather small but satisfactory - also had a balcony where room overlooked the garden and swimming pool. Comfortable stay. Hotel location is convenient for visiting the beach landings of WWII and other small towns in Normandy. Staff were polite and courteous and spoke English. Breakfast which was a buffet had a good selection.

Hotel is clean and comfortable..the pool is clear and sparkling.....the restaurant is another story. I ate there twice...the first meal was very very rich and needed something to give you a break from the rich sauce...the 2nd meal was a burger....it was almost raw....got sick (lost my dinner) right after I was finished eating.

We came to stay for a night to see Normandy. The hotel is tucked away and quiet. Though we didn't golf, we enjoyed walking the course. There is a small picturesque church within walking distance. Beautiful area! The room was small, but well updated and purposeful. It's had everything we needed. We enjoyed hot chocolate on the patio after dinner, listening to the birds and the breezes. We enjoyed the view of the ocean during our delicious breakfast. We recommend the carrot bread! The staff was kind and patient. We appreciated their fluent English. We just can't say enough about this place. We aren't planning a trip back to France, but if we do, we will come back!
