Came for a second time in just over a year with family. Booked 6 units to celebrate my 70th. Noticed straight away that within a year standards had dropped. The pool which is beautiful was not being cleaned as often as it should have, lots of debris at bottom of pool. The staff were inexperienced compared to last year. It took over 20 mins for a staff member to book a sail for us at reception. Waited 35 mins for 2 takeaway coffees. Just not good enough. With premium prices you expect premium service and to charge a surcharge on everything over 4 days of Easter was ridiculous. No longer a five star resort in my opinion. Disappointed

Owner was not contactable for many hours after my partner received an electrical shock from the toaster and blew out the circuit breaker. No test tags were on any electrical appliance except for the rangehood that was tested on 2017. Some 4 hours later she called and advised the breakers were outside the unit in a communal cupboard. Said we had spent over $200 on food, that much had to be thrown out from no power and had thawed. Floor was very dirty as there was no mop for cleaning i was a towel and was discusted in the level of dirt found. Couches need steam cleaning as does the chairs around the table and outdoor setting. Pity there is no photo uploads of showing you what to expect as i asked for the owners details as she never even questioned how my partner was after getting shocked....

Port Douglas Sea Temple has a wonderful reputation and we can see why. What a perfect place for a long weekend. We have had the most attentive service from every staff member, our penthouse 2 bedroom apar**ent was beautifully furnished and detailed to perfection, breakfast by the sparkling pool was delicious. We have no hesitation in recommending this stunning accommodation.

We stayed here for 3 nights on a girls' mini vacation. Upon arrival (as mum is an accor member) we were offered a welcoming drink (champaigne/mocktail). The receptionist didn't ask for my ID & assumed I just wanted a mocktail, it was still very nice. As our room wasn't ready we were able to lay by the pool until it was ready. The room was nice, but small. The TV was quite small & should have been on a TV bracket. We also didn't like that there was no microwave or toaster in the room (which we thought was a little strange, especially becuase there was no stovetop), which made it hard to reheat leftovers or cook in general. The huge spa bath was great, but there was no bubblebath which was a little disappointing. Even though the room service menu was nice, we felt it was limited & expensive. The pool however, was huge & wonderful. The pool menu was much more extensive & didn't seem as expensive. The cocktails were great. We only ate in the restaurant once for breakfast. It was very nice. We had wanted to eat there for dinner, but again we thought it was very expensive. Overall we had a lovely time.

The resort is excellent. We stayed in a 2 bed apar**ent with rooftop spa. The rooftop area is great for bbqs. Some people stayed in a swim out apar**ent which allows you to get in the pool directly from your apar**ent. The apar**ents are spacious and modern.

Overall, a great stay in Port Douglas with plenty to see and do. The resort is a short drive or an hour + beach walk to the centre having great shops, restaurants, cafes, bars…the Sunday market is fun! For a beach walk, it’s your backyard and you feel you are in paradise but your feet may get wet around high tide near the entry so ditch the shoes. Loved being around the pool bar but lounges sometimes hard to get. There are more available in another location but you need to exit pool area to get there. The resort is more family orientated, and could do with an adults only pool section. Waiters need to be floating around taking orders. The grounds are well kept but glass pool fence should be cleaned more often. Rooms are spacious and cleaned daily. Great brekkie buffet selection. Staff are friendly with a shout out to Cassiopee and Aurora who looked after us at brekkie with a friendly smile and chat.

This resort would have been amazing in 2000…. It’s just tired and grotty now which is such a shame. It definitely doesn’t feel like a 5 star establishment. We booked a swim-out 2 bedroom apar**ent (#128) through the Boutique Collection who manage the property off-site. Our dealing with them was adequate however their cleaning crew need more training or more time to clean. The entire apar**ent felt tired and like it needed a good scrub. The bed linen was nice, but the towels were basic. We prefer a firm mattress so were very pleased with the king bed. There was nothing luxurious about the bathrooms, bedrooms, kitchen or decor - they appeared 3 star at best. It’s definitely time for a refurb in this one. The direct pool access was awesome, and something we looked forward to having twin six year olds. However, the water in the main pool was so cold (we were there in August) that our kids preferred the toddler pool (which was slightly warmer) on the other side of the property, which defeated the purpose of having a swim-out. Why do they not heat their main feature in the cooler months? The resort was packed yet the pool was empty & anyone actually wanting to swim was crammed into a tiny 2m x 2m spa with kids jumping in and out - such a waste of an amazing pool/lagoon layout. The restaurant was fully booked our entire stay so we can’t comment on that. We self catered a few nights and the kitchen is very, very basic. It would be nice for someone to sharpen the kitchen knives once in a while! The pool bar was not bad for lunch, we quite enjoyed our meals although spending $170 for 2 kids meals, 2 adult meals and a few drinks and given wooden cutlery felt pretty basic. The architecture, layout, gardens and pools were beautiful, and that’s what sold us on the property. But we definitely felt short changed with our apar**ent and it’s lacklustre decor and maintenance. We were close to the restaurant and so had to endure their music all day if sitting outside. Oh boy, who is choosing the tunes? Surely they could spend a little extra and subscribe to a music mix that doesn’t sound like elevator music. It was really quite laughable in the end - how can management think that music suits the venue?! We wouldn’t choose to stay here again unless they updated the rooms and heated the pool in winter. Such a shame, I’m sure it was lovely 20 years ago.
