We stayed at the Main Lodge of Kariega Game Reserve for two nights in February and had the most incredible time of our lives. From start to finish, everything was simply perfect. The insights we gained about nature and its wonders over those three days are truly indescribable. We were left breathless when we saw lions in the evening sun. We had high hopes for this stay, and it exceeded every expectation. Moreover, my daughter and I are gluten intolerant, and never before have we experienced such seamless gluten-free accommodations. From breakfast to dinner, we were always provided with gluten-free alternatives. I was immensely impressed, as many five-star establishments in big cities often fail to meet our dietary needs effectively. The lodge itself is extraordinary, but it’s the staff that truly embodies the spirit of hospitality. We are already hoping to return next year for another magical experience. Thank you, Kariega Main Lodge, for making our stay unforgettable!

We spent 2nights in July 2025. From the moment we arrived the staff were accommodating and will help us settle in. Our guide Darren Milne was excellent was knowledgeable and answered all the questions professionally. We did 3 game drives in total. Though blankets are provided. If travelling in July it is quiet cold recommend a wooly hat, gloves, and scarf, and winter wind proof jacket.

I can't put it into words. The magnitude of what we have experienced will never be experienced again.from the wildlife, to the scenery, but even more so the people.....it's truly tearjerking.

We had a fabulous time at Kariega Main Lodge. Our lodge was extremely comfortable and the food was amazing. The game drives were incredible and such an adventure. Trust was a fantastic guide and we saw some amazing sights with him. His passion for the natural world clearly came across and we learnt so much from him. A huge thank you to everyone at Kariega for a wonderful few days.

Every single aspect of the experience at Kariega Game Reserve is mind-blowingly exceptional. Attention to detail is second to none. Service, staff, game viewing, accommodation, food and atmosphere just next level. Can't recommend highly enough.

We have been on safaris before in Kichaka lodge but this family friendly safari lodge is excellent. It is value for money, staff are very helpful, chalets are clean and provide stunning panoramic views. However a safari is all about your guide and the animals. Kariega delivered on both fronts. Our guide Monde made this family trip. He was courteous, polite, professional, knowledgeable on all the flora and fauna we encountered. He was an excellent driver and I, my wife, and 2 children always felt safe, and were made to feel special.

We had another wonderful visit at this fantastic game reserve - game viewing was superb, our guide AK was great, the food and hospitality were very good and staff were all very friendly and welcoming. A few of the highlights : - male lions eating a giraffe which they taken down earlier in the day - two hippos walking before entering the river - buffaloe - close encounter with a pair of secretary birds - plenty of antelope and giraffe - teenage male lions having fun in the water with their mother. Food variety at each sitting was wide and very tasty. Accommodation was great and easy walking distance from main camp. It has stunning views and just far enough to enjoy the quiet of the African bush.
