We checked in here for four nights to walk some country trails and enjoy some village life. These four apartments are right on the edge of the village with easy access to the main street. Parking is right outside the door motel style. The apartment is a huge airy studio with plenty of room and clean. The kitchen is fairly compact but has everything you need for self catering, even an oven. However the washing up bowl is part of the deal, much loved by locals but just annoying to us antipodeans. And there is no plug as an alternative. Loved the complimentary bottles of wine, biscuits and snacks - nice touch. Shops, cafes and pubs are all handy and its very quiet, an easy walk to the seaside. The externals need some love and care. There were lots of ****s and dead plants in pots in front of all of the units with the odd cigarette butt. There is a separate little fenced garden to sit in on the other side of the carpark. But it has the kind of furniture there that you wouldn't want to sit in for long - or lounge to read a book. Its place we will come back to though but would do a shop at the supermarket before arriving at the offerings at the local mini markets are quite limited. And there nothing like a pot of tea and cake at Whortleberrys.
