There's been quite a few reviews for this hotel. Some speak about what EXACTLY is included in the 'All-Inclusive' aspect of a booking. Here's an up-to-date guide for those thinking of booking. This is accurate as of August 2025. Let's start with the thing that causes the most questions and confusion. What IS included in AI. Drinks - Included are: ▪️Aperol Spritz ▪️ Hugo Spritz ▪️ Rosata Spritz ▪️Cubra Libre ▪️Gin & Tonic (Gordon's) ▪️ Pelinkovac Maraska (Croatian Liquer) ▪️ Smirnoff Vodka ▪️ Gordon's Gin ▪️ Jim Beam Whiskey ▪️ Medovukha (Honey based Liquer) ▪️ Viljamovka (Pear Brandy) ▪️ Jose Cuervo Tequila ▪️ Johnnie Walker Red ▪️ Karlovacko Lager (Self serve from seperate machines) ▪️Red & White wine (Self serve from seperate machines) Other is available but will be charged for. ▪️ Croatian Branded Soft Drinks (These are from self-serve machines and as others have mentioned, they are very sugary and high on syrup) ▪️Tea/Coffee - Again, self serve machines No cocktails or mocktails are included as with other european AI resorts. If you think of a drink that is not listed above, you will pay extra for it) Note: When TUI says that some soft drinks are included, these DO NOT include branded soft drinks such as Pepsi, 7UP, etc. These are available from the bar but you will pay for them. If you order a say, Jim Beam and Pepsi, you will be charged for the Pepsi. Bottled water is not a part of AI. Nor do the rooms include water. You will need to pay for these extra or purchase water from the near-ish-by supermarket. (Tap water is safe to drink in Croatia) Water is available though at the self-serve soft drink machines and we did see people filling large thermos style bottles from these machines. There was no extra charge pushed on us at check-in as some of the older reviews mentioned and you are given a paper list of everything included. What was strange was getting a drink from the pool bar. Ordering the included beer was a straight up, pour and walk away but ordering the included Aperol required a scan of your watch and signing of a Zero Euro receipt. Strange. Food With AI, there is only one restaurant you can eat for free in and that is the Isola. This is buffet style and includes Breakfast, Lunch, Afternoon Snack and Dinner and does get incredibly busy. You'll struggle for a table if you don't get in there before everyone else. Breakfast included a variety of hot and cold options but does get very 'samey' across your stay. Lunch and Dinner consists of pasta options, pizza, fries and some local style dishes which so change slightly each day. Food is not the best. It can be bland and flavourless depending on what you choose. Much better food is available across the water in Porec town. The deserts are mainly small cakes, blancmange style pudding and fruit. There is ice cream available, but note this a self serve fridge that you scoop yourself and not from a machine. Once the kids have been scrambling around it, it can become off putting when the

We have never returned to the same hotel but we will be back next year, nobody wanted to leave it was so special A hotel on its own island is stuff of dreams and this didn’t disappoint. The views over the sea from the room, the views from the bar overlooking the port, everywhere you look was so pretty. The hotel was the spotlessly clean, everywhere, not just the hotel but the whole island. The food was very good, the choice was not as big as some places but most of it was made fresh in front of you making it a bit more special. The best thing was the peace and quiet, we stayed in a bungalow at the back of the island and it was deadly silent at night. We spent every evening out the front on the patio watching out over the harbour. There was no loud annoying kids clubs (despite going with a 6and 12 year old) we hate those, instead live singing all 70s,80s90s classics at a volume you could still hold a conversation over. Plenty of staff on hand to take drinks orders, it was bliss. The pool was busy some days but we always found a lounger by the pool every after 10am and the kids loved the slides. The only downside was the “all inclusive element” but we figured this out on day 2 and had no issues once I got hold of the menu. I did go back and check the Tui app as I’d assumed all of the restaurants on the island were included but, I didn’t read the small print. Mini golf was an extra cost which was a bit disappointing but was relatively cheap entertainment. We booked this hotel as it was so close to the port and had planned a trip to Venice. This also didn’t disappoint and the location made the transfer effortless Will will be back next year and for longer

Disagree with the bad reviews. We booked TUI and was worried before we came. Don’t be put off! The hotel is really lovely. Clean. Food. Lots to choose from fish, meat chicken and pork mainly but with daily show dinner. Eg burgers but fresh cooked on bbq in front of you. Pasta rice salad vegetables plenty. Breakfast good choice too. Drinks for UK TUI customers are now including a list of cocktails and top end spirits within your all inclusive so no extra to pay. Nice wine and beer on tap and at the pool bar, lobby bar and dining room. Yes in August it’s busy with families but beaches (4) are chilled out. Sea clear and beautiful pool clean big and not too chilly (my child got in for hours!) slides brilliant fun. Rooms large and clean. Bathroom lovely. We’ve traveled extensively and are really not sure why people are putting this hotel down. Porec is also beautiful, think Venetian architecture. I’d recommend coming here you won’t be disappointed.

Dear Team Isabella, thank you for creating a memorable experience for my wife and myself. Your service was truly above and beyond. Special thanks to Lara Gregorovič for the "warm welcome". Best Regards, Robert and Gina C Vancouver, Canada

If the food and dining experience was improved this would be a great place to stay. We arrived late night and had a problem which was resolved next morning. The receptionists were always very helpful and all staff we spoke to were friendly. Appreciate the cold buffet and drinks left for us in the dining room for our late arrival.Once we knew what was available on our all inclusive package it was perfect for us.Our room was serviced every day and we were more than happy with the cleanliness. Would definitely recommend going over to Porec one night and having a meal in one of the many restaurants. It would be nice to have a lifeguard on duty for the swimming pool. We would definitely recommend staying at this resort.

We travelled as a family, and having read the recent reviews I wasn’t sure what to expect. But we were pleasantly surprised, and would have to say that the recent poor reviews are extremely harsh. The food quality is what you would expect, and with plenty of variety. I would also qualify the recent comment regarding the pizza quality. If you enjoy frozen deep pan, then this isn’t the place for you, as the pizzas are freshly stone baked from a pizza oven. The only reason I would rate this as good rather than excellent is that the activity pool area was quite busy, and could do with being larger to accommodate the volume of people. Do not be put off. The hotel and holiday experience is a unique experience, and much better than people have been giving it credit for. We are regular travellers and would recommend visiting here.

We came here the 3rd year now - 1st time in our life we did that- and were very much looking forward to repeating the great experience of 23 and 24. Unfortunately we were utterly disappointed to witness how badly things have deteriorated in this facility. Starting with the positive: the island is still a beautiful spot - nice views and sunsets and sometimes dolphins to be seen. The rest, unfortunately has drowned in mediocrity and worse. Food: light years to where it used to be. 90% repetition every day. Food quality scarce to unacceptable. Poor meat quality, poor fish quality and low budget meat and fish choices. Vegetables and salads follow the same pattern. Fast food galore. Fruit choices limited to a few and cut fruits find their way to the buffet several times, if not consumed. Deserts are industrial make. Everything is often insufficiently available resulting in long cues or no availability for many. Beverages (which are included) are poor quality and dispensers are too few for the demand. Rooms are not cleaned up properly and you end up having sandpits in the room at the end of the week. We had to change our key badges 4 times because they stopped working. This meant we had to walk all the way across the island to the reception (we were in one of the villas) to change them again. Not once have we been offered a token of apology or that the new tokens would be brought to us. At checkout the luggage had to be ready outside the door at 8:30 whilst the room only had to be cleared at 10. Music and evening entertainment at the lobby bar, which used to be a real highlight the previous years, has dropped to a boring sideshow, better replaced by tape music background. …and much more… Since the concept was changed to “all inclusive “ the whole atmosphere has changed and so has the quality of all the services. Unfortunately, this means for us, this was the last time on Isabella Island. No longer worth the money! .

Miss Sunshine sums up the hotel perfectly! Its a beautiful hotel and resort but is a huge disappointment. The 'all inclusive' element is a joke and not what I would expect for all inclusive. Food average, drinks poor quality, dining room is worse than school canteen, the pool area is overcrowded and the lifeguards are not keeping people in check on the slides. The other pool we couldn't use the beds as we wasn't a 'v lounge' resident. Our villa room was away from amenities, we weren't able to get a drink or replenish water (wasn't replaced in the room) with out a 10 minute walk back to the main building. Staff were not interested or friendly except for the egg lady at breakfast. Unfortunately I wouldn't return here.

We recently stayed at Valamar Isabella and unfortunately, our experience confirmed what many others have pointed out. While the island is undeniably beautiful and the resort looks impressive on the surface, that’s about as far as the positives go. What’s advertised as a luxurious all-inclusive 4 star escape felt more like a restricted, budget package with endless rules and disappointments. We’ve travelled extensively with TUI and stayed at all-inclusive resorts across Europe, Mexico, and Dubai – this was by far our most frustrating experience. If you’re considering booking this hotel, read on carefully – or better yet, save your money and go elsewhere. 🥴 FOOD – Cold, Repetitive, and Poorly Managed The food was the most disappointing aspect of the stay. The only dining option available to all-inclusive guests is the Isola buffet, and it was a let-down from day one. Food was often cold, lacked flavour, and the options were repetitive and poorly paired. Pizza was constantly cold, bland, and cardboard-like. Fries were the only thing my children would eat – and even those weren’t great. One evening we were served tiny kebabs and fries, which gave me stomach issues. Chicken was pink and looked undercooked – we didn’t touch it. Burgers were served without buns one night. Yes, you read that correctly. Salads were extremely limited, despite the hot weather. Even more frustrating: none of the à la carte restaurants are included in the all-inclusive package. That includes the beautiful Oliva Grill, which is prominently advertised with pictures on TUI and Jet2. It sits empty while guests are crammed into the buffet restaurant eating substandard food. Out of desperation, we paid to eat at Oliva Grill one day – and it was genuinely delicious, with fresh salads and flavourful dishes. It’s baffling why this quality isn’t replicated in the main buffet restaurant. Also – ice creams and slushies aren’t included. All-inclusive guests are only allowed one type of ice cream (and only at Isola). Slushies cost €7 each, which is absurd on a family holiday. My children, who are usually not fussy, ended up eating just bread and chips for most of the week. They didn’t even like the pizza – and that says it all. They actually referred to the food as “slop.” Hard to argue with them. 🍹 DRINKS – Misleading, Poor Quality, and Unclear The drinks situation is a confusing mess. Wine, beer, and sugary soft drinks are self-serve, and the quality is poor. The soft drinks tasted like cheap syrup and gave my kids upset stomachs. If you want something better (a proper cocktail, branded spirits, even certain juices), you’re told to pay an extra €20 per person per day – but no one tells you this upfront unless you specifically ask. We were also told this charge was originally for half-board guests to upgrade, but it’s never clearly explained or enforced. What’s worse is that anyone can serve themselves drinks from the same machines – including bed & breakfast, half-board, or even day
