Quinta Das Figueirinhas & Quintinha Village

A quiet, lovely apartment complex Pleasant greeting at reception, 2€ per person per night tourist tax charged on arrival, ouch but we knew about it beforehand. Room was nicely located overlooking one of he gardens, spotlessly clean, practical airy, we had a one bedroom apt, with 2 adults and 2 older teenagers , only tiny issue is one of the teens is over 6ft and too tall for the pull out bed, but he coped. The pool area was lovely , very quiet . You had your own parasol in the room to use on the balcony or take down to the pool if required, which was a great idea. Pool toilets were little dated , but we just popped back to our apt instead. Nice play area for kids. Cafe/bar/ restaurant We were a little annoyed that the bar restaurant was closed for our stay as this wasn't mentioned in booking and still not out of season, however the cafe was open and food was delicious, as were the cakes and coffees, lacked any atmosphere in evening apart from the one night where there was live music. Just needed a little music sorting really. Location short walk to several beaches ( some accessed from steep cliff steps) absolutely stunning clifftop walks , make sure u visit the little church area and shell trees near beaches its so pretty. You cN either walk towards beach or the intermarche for bars and restaurants, there is plenty, or go into armacao de pera, €3 in uber. Try tasca26 tapas it's amazing and easy walking distance.. Overall (this was a real budget holiday for us) is absolutely worth every penny, traditionally portuguese, friendly, quiet, and in a quiet but beautiful location.
White Shell Beach Villas

I stayed with my family for 5 days at this Hotel, our experience was excellent, the service was very good, the rooms had plenty of space and the facilities were also new, the kitchen was well equipped and everything was clean. The pool was super cold, we weren't able to enjoy it, even the indoor pool was too cold for our taste. There is a supermarket nearby, the beach nearby was very calm and full of families. The restaurant was also very good and the chef made adaptations for me since I don't eat gluten or lactose. We just missed a play ground for the children. We will be back next year for sure
Ukino Terrace Algarve Concept

We have recently just enjoyed a 7 night stay at the Ukino Terrace. We stayed on a self catering basis in, as others have remarked, a really spacious apartment. We had two balcony’s and fully included catering facilities minus an oven. This didn’t impact us as we only ate lunch and breakfast in the apartment. The pool area was spacious and we never struggled to get sun loungers even though the complex was quite busy during our stay. The staff we came across were all very helpful and friendly and the apartments were cleaned every other day. Our only downside was being allocated a room on the first floor- we were travelling with an infant and had requested (knowing it’s not guaranteed) a ground floor apartment as the complex doesn’t have lifts. This was a bit of pain having to carry our buggy up/down the stairs all the time. It must be said though that during our stay there was lots of other families staying at the resort and I think it was just our bad luck that these apartments had already been allocated to others. Another thing to note, which isn’t really the fault of the hotel, is how it it marketed by tour operators. The hotel is actually in the small resort of Alporchinhos although the likes of Jet2, Easjyet Holidays, Tui etc market it as either Porches or Armacao de Pera. It is quite a distance to both although local buses run to both of them. Be mindful however that the buses aren’t overally frequent (operates about 10 times a day). There is a tourist train that runs to Armacao de Pera which runs more often and until quite late in the evening. The price is £4 per person and this is a for a return ticket. Alternatively it is about a 40 minute walk into Armacao. It is quite an uphill walk back however. Alporchinhos itself as previously mentioned is a small resort. The lovely beaches are a ten minute walk away, accessible either down a big hill or via steps. There are around 10 restaurants about 10 minutes walk uphill from the hotel as well as the Intermarche supermarket. This is where the hotel is missing a trick- having a little mini market on site would not only be so convenient, it would make an absolute fortune i am sure. Another thing to note is use of taxis if travelling with children. Unlink the UK, it is a legal requirement in Portugal for children in taxis to be in a car seat. Unless you have your own, most taxi drivers including Uber and Bolt may not have one and won’t accept the fare. We had a great holiday at the Ukino Terrace and having done research prior to booking, knew what to expect from the hotel and resort. We wanted a cheap and relaxing break away which is what we got. Personally we won’t rush to return as in the future we would like a busier area as our daughter gets older. If you are looking for a quiet break however in a pretty Portuguese town then I would definitely recommend this hotel.
Ukino Palmeiras Village - 24h All Inclusive

Just back from this hotel, went for a 10 day trip with my partner and son. Lovely area, much quieter than Albufiera which will suit some people, we did miss the bustle a bit but only 11 euros or so in an Uber Cleanliness Hotel absolutely immaculate, cleaners and restaurant bar and restaurant staff work so hard and it shows. Food and drink Drinks good as was the food. Plenty of options with the 24 hour snack bar, great selling point. Food was mixed and of a good standard, Special mention to the omelette chef at the sea front restaurant making my wee boy his favourite omelette daily with a smile, lovely guy! Staff at both pool bars also extra friendly and were all lovely to me and my family, a credit to the hotel. Entertainment Definitely catered for the French, British a bit of an afterthought with a few of the animation team but didn’t really bother us. They could try a little bit harder with the kids though, seemed a bit passive, more nonsense required to engage the kids, it’s maybe been a long season! The entertainment hall massive, staff there lovely too and a great location for the night time disco, again a lot of which is in French. Overall a superb hotel, definitely would return, well worth the money.
Vilalara Grand Hotel Algarve

Absolutely stunning experience! We stayed for 3 nights and loved every minute of it. The hotel facilities are superb, beach and views and breathtaking. If you go on a left from the beach there is a wonderful easy hike with spectacular views, approximately 30 mins one way. Lots of even more stunning nature within 15-20 mins drive from the hotel. We will definitely be back! <3
Vila Vita Parc

Ah what a lovely beachy chilled out palm tree fringed holiday this place offers! It is just the ultimate European beach holiday if you are looking for decompression and stunning vistas this is for you. I don't think it is especially luxurious as such, it has a comfortable, laid back coastal moorish style, but it suits the style and location of the hotel so well, and together with the most wonderful staff it really delivers a traditional beach holiday in every sense of the word. The activities and sports on offer, the number of restaurants to choose from will meet most people's expectations. The breakfast was just outstanding overlooking the shimmering waters. The care and thought as to how they can deliver for families without taking away the peace and tranquility for adult guests should be used as an example to other hotels of this calibre. They have perfected the blend, and so it offers a multi generational holiday whatever you are looking for. The pool service was outstanding. The relaxation is guaranteed. The tropical gardens are so beautiful - it almost has an unreal feeling about it. We loved it, and we will be back, and next time we will stay for much longer. I don't think the blend of laid back fun with wonderful service like this really exists anymore - it is an art form and quite rare - but here it is still possible! Take your shoes off for a while, breathe in the warm sea air and let them look after you! Very well done to the GM and team
