Hotels Near Kayak & SUP Benagil in Porches

Thoroughly enjoyed our second visit to Vila Vita, it's a wonderful hotel, and we found more things to enjoy. For our family it was perfect as there are so many activities to do - pool, beach, sports, health club, children's holiday club, relaxing. There is wide range of on and off site restaurants, which are all great. The rooms are very comfortable and the family room with an extra bedroom and garden terrace suits us to enjoy our evening while our children sleep. And finally you are looked after extremely well and in great comfort.

Very nice and quiet hotel, but the food is terrible. Do not listen to any recommendations coming from the front desk, because they are not helpful when you get ripped off by who they recommend. They told us to use 5emotions for a boat tour and raved about how good they were. The next day the tour they recommended did not take us into the caves and when i complained about it they did absolutely noting! We paid them but they did nothing when we didn't get what we paid for. This left a bad taste in my mouth. If you have to stay here, stay just don't listen to anything front desk has to say and do not pay them for anything extra. They clearly all work together to rip customers off. DO NOT USE 5emotions for any excision.

Go to the Benagil cave, about 10 minutes by car. The whole hotel is similar to a small resort. It was a bit similar to the one I stayed in Las Vegas. The living room is very large. I did not try the restaurant and the pool. The front desk was very welcoming and cost-effective.

Just returned from a 3 ball golf Trip. Played Faldo and O'connor twice each. First off, this place isn't perfect, but value for money you cannot have any complaints. We were more than satisfied. O'connor was a decent resort course. Tee boxes on some holes were poor and some of the bunkers are not up to scratch. Tee boxes do not stop you hitting a decent shot. Crap lie in a bunker with no sand?.... Move it! who cares, this isn't a professional tournament. Overall the O'connor is not bad. I wouldn't include it on my trip back if wasn't already part of the package but still good. Shout out David from Denmark who joined us on our last day and participated hugely in a 4 ball scramble. 9 under. Not bad Faldo Course. This course is fantastic. Much better maintained to that of the O'connor, although still some ropey tee boxes. Very tough course in 40 mph winds and even more difficult when still slightly drunk from the night before. This course I would Happily detour off and play again. True test of golf that will hurt complacency on the back 9 especially. Hole 10 the one of the toughest holes I have ever played. 495 yards par 4 that is usually into wind. We were very lucky with Buggies as clearly they do not have enough. On 2 occasions we got the last two buggies which meant anyone booking in their round after us, would have had to wait. Pace of play was always very good. Surprising really but only got stuck once on the Faldo after we caught up on the 12th hole. After a really poor 14th by us, everyone dispersed again and smooth sailing there on after. For the most part you feel like you are the only ones on the course. Shuttle service was good, although only one driver most days but wasn't really an issue. Resort itself - 2 bedroom apartment we stayed in was excellent. Really well looked after and modern throughout. Staff couldn't have been more helpful. Some more quieter than others and some clearly new to their jobs but the intent to help was always there. We managed to move one days golf and bring it forward as weather forecast for the Thursday looked miserable. Lady in pro shop was very helpful and happy to accommodate. Luckily we did as Thursdays weather was horrific. Food decent enough and not bad value for money. Lunch we had at resort but for dinners we went into Albufeira or Vilamoura. Top tip - Download Uber and use these for travel, much cheaper. Breakfast was nice. Lots to offer and no complaints here Negatives - No supermarket on site. For a self catering resort, this is stupid. Pool closed October. Not sure we would have made the pool anyway as weather wasn't the best. Location - Middle of nowhere. Will need cabs and Ubers for travel. Bunkers on O'connor in particular are poor. Tee boxes on both not great on some holes. Some cabagey rough areas around greens, not many. For all he negative reviews knocking about, I was very nervous about this place as it was me that picked and organised this trip. I didn't want to let the boys down

Booked a 3-night twin room to attend a friend's lecture in Lagoa. The hotel, or better, motel is excellent for those on wheels, not for those on foot. If you have disabilities find another town in the Algarve. Some sets of stairs do not have rails, you have to go round the entrance to physically 'get in'. The reception has only 1 staff member when off-season, be prepared and do it all online. Forget questions about taxis, transportation, and restaurant advice is really subjective. The room was very comfortable, the second door to a set of stairs (curled) with direct access to the car park/entry of the hotel area was not. Cold and humidity pass through the doors (front door leading to corridor inside as well), as doors need maintenance. Breakfast is good and varied, for all tastes, except gluten-free options. Internet signal very weak, had to use phone data package. Check-in is only at 4pm. Pro's. besides what I already mentioned: bus terminal 5 min walk, good restaurants each way 5 min walk (one is just next door), supermarket passing the roundabout, beds very comfortable. You can walk to the centre (10 min walk) but the town is without interest, unless you are there for an event, for those on foot, you can stay here and get to know other nearby cities in the Algarve by bus, as the terminal is so close, and it is not expensive to go around by bus.

I would use one word to describe this hotel -Paradise. We came as guests and the staff treated us so well, we left as friends. We had our wedding at the Bricia Du Mar and it was prefect. The location for a wedding is what we dreamed of. The hotel is low rise and like a little village with beautiful rooms and a stunning pool area. There is a fantastic gym and spa also. What Raquel, Pedro and everyone else did to help us was above and beyond what you would expect from a hotel. They say they are not wedding planners but what they did to help us arrange our wedding was incredible. This a family run hotel and you can see the care and attention they have to make the hotel a success as it is quite new. Everything is spotlessly clean and such a calming wonderful environment. Our wedding went without a hitch and the attention to detail was incredible. All the staff at our wedding were genuinely happy to be there from the chefs to the bar staff and waiters who couldn’t do enough for us. I lived on the 1st floor, everything was old, the room was dark, it was convenient that it had its own exit to the street, like a courtyard, and right to the pool. The pool was a bit old. Very cool friendly staff, they helped with all questions. A little far from the center, but if you have a car, everything is great. There is parking! Quiet area, beautiful beach within walking distance.

I would love to give this place a poor review to put people off going so I could keep it for myself but that would be doing the staff a real disservice. I can't fault this place at all- the place was spotless inside and out and the rooms were well equipped with fridge ,safe and air conditioning and lovely hot showers. The breakfast had something for everyone and changed each day. The staff are the real star of the show though and nothing is too much trouble. We mentioned we were looking for worry beads and the next thing we knew one of the waitresses at breakfast went across the street and brought back a selection for us to choose from and purchase from the shop opposite. Special mention to Ioanna who was so friendly and up for a laugh she really made our holiday. Great Central location but quiet with a lovely small pool and pool area. Can't wait to come back!
