For a 3 star hotel,the room ( 813) we experienced, was of a generous size with 2 large balconies, great air conditioning and basically everything needed for a self catering holiday.Room serviced every other day. On our last day we upgraded to all inclusive. Was glad to have tried it but felt it would have been restrictive had we done this for the full week, as so many nice places to visit and eat out if you are prepared to take a short cheap taxi ride. We used bolt, which was very reasonable. Pool decent size, sunbeds scenario no worse than any other holiday, we got to the pool about 9:15 each morning and managed 4 sunbeds together no problem. Location is lovely and quiet for a relaxing holiday, with a few restaurants nearby , beach is very nice within a 10 minute walk. Such a shame a supermarket/small shop not close by for essentials. We took a 5 mins taxi journey into Armacoa de pera a couple times where there is a large Lidl . To sum it up , highly recommend for a reasonably priced, relaxing break.

My partner & I found a good deal staying here during Christmas with jet2 holidays. We had, had a very stressful couple of months and decided we just wanted a quiet week away in the warm sun, and we weren't disappointed. Upon arrival, we were welcomed by the very friendly reception staff, given information and our room key card. We had booked a one bedroomed self-catering apartment and had a side sea view. Our apartment was very spacious and clean with a large balcony, and we had everything we needed. Good sized bedroom with extremely comfortable beds, bathroom with bath/ shower & bidet and a large lounge with kitchen. Yes, these apartments are in a very quiet area/ village, with a handful of restaurants in the vicinity and the lovely beaches only a short stroll away, but this is what we wanted. Lots of places nearby were closed for the xmas period, but there is a large "intermarche" supermarket within walking distance which supplied everything we required for our self-catering stay. All the staff here were very helpful and friendly & made us feel welcomed. I have health issues and can't walk long distances, so we hired mobility scooters from a company in Albufeira that delivered them to our apartment. These were ideal for us to get around, especially into the nearby town which is a little more lively. We had a wonderful relaxing stay here, the large outdoor pool and sunbeds were open, but as it was December, the pool was too cold to utilise. There is a little snack bar/ cafe adjoined- ," The sweet stop" but I'm gluten free and the menu was very limited so sadly we didn't use. There is a couple of Indian restaurants in the local area, we visited both, excellent food. Our only negative about these apartments was that after a few quiet days there, more people arrived in the apartments around us, both with loud young children/ babies. The walls were very thin, and we could hear everyone around us. Maybe in full season noise maybe an issue here? But all in all we loved our quiet, relaxing week at the Ukino . Would stay here again.
