HSL is a nice small hotel, conveniently located near the center of the Historic center of Poppi. My wife and I drove there, and Google Maps didn't do so well, advising us incorrectly that we had arrived at our destination. A call to the hotel resolvedit; the excellent desk clerk guided us real time out of the center, around the congestion and one-way streets, back up the hill and into their parking lot. Only about a block from where we'd been, but it seemed like miles. Maybe she does this a lot. The room was simple but spacious, and it had a view. The breakfast was diverse and tasty, the location was perfect for walking and the service, as already mentioned, was impeccable. We'd return in a heartbeat.

Located in old central Poppi adjacent to the castle of count guidi. Excellent breakfast provided. Incredible view from our room. Very spacious room with comfortable bed. Wife gives five stars for the shower! Within walking distance to the entire central “old” Poppi and to the downtown Poppi area. Staff was very friendly and accommodated our every need.

Beautiful room with amazing view
When I was booking the hotel I saw a review complaining about the decor - crazy! The room is super large and beautifully decorated with a very authentic style. The view from our room was breathtaking. Location was perfect.
Things to consider - no AC, just fan... in July, not great. Breakfast is good, but kind of simple and few options if you have food allergies. Parking can be a bit hard to find after late hours. Chairs around the table were not in great condition. But pros compensate the cons.

They have all to be excellent
It is an extraordinary place, an old building in the old city of Popi with wonderful views of the valley next to the Popi castle with private parking next door. However, it has many details that could improve the room, which is quite poorly decorated, with bathroom accessories of very poor quality, the mattress is old and soft. In short, the room could be of a different quality than what it is.

Albergo vicinissimo al castello di Poppi anche se non è facilissimo arrivarci anche perché la maggioranza dei navigatori vanno in tilt nei pressi del centro. Nella piazza antistante c'è un comodo parcheggio pubblico gratis, la struttura, anche se un poco datata offre tutti i confort necessari, buona la prima colazione e la responsabile della reception brilla per efficienza e simpatia. Molto buono il rapporto qualità prezzo.

Albergo ospitale, che si affaccia su una piazzetta con parcheggio gratuito, dove l’atmosfera e l’ambiente ricordano le dimore nobiliari d’altri tempi della campagna toscana. La stanza è spaziosa e arredata con mobili in legno laccato abbinati a letti in ferro battuto, mentre il bagno, al contrario, è molto piccolo. Sarebbe stata comoda l’aria condizionata o quantomeno la zanzariera alla finestra per avere maggior comfort. Ottima la colazione, con prodotti freschi e buoni, servita su un terrazzino panoramico con splendida vista sul Casentino. Gentilissima la proprietaria.

Di ritorno da una vacanza al sud ci siamo fermati in questo splendido borgo. Prenotato due camere. Scelta eccellente. Dimora d’epoca bellissima ai piedi del castello emblema del paese. Abbiamo trovato garbo, cortesia e grande disponibilità. Elisa ha atteso pazientemente che arrivassimo oltre l’orario del check-in e ci ha dato indicazioni per arrivare alla struttura. Camere dal sapore antico pulite e confortevoli. Colazione eccellente servita nello splendido giardino che affaccia sulla vallata sottostante. Ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo. Uno di quei posto dove torneresti sempre volentieri. Grazie ancora Elisa, e grazie anche all’altra ragazza, brava e sorridente, che si occupava del servizio colazione, per avere reso piacevolissimo il nostro breve soggiorno a Poppi. Nello Marano
