A very warm welcome and the staff could not do enough for me on my solo trip. Helped me get a taxi on checkout and just generally made me feel very welcomed. The atmosphere when I arrived was lovely and friendly. Lovely peaceful location. Room was very clean, comfortable and spacious. Great stay and although I was away for business, I will return for leisure for sure. Food looked great!

Highly recommended. Received a very warm welcome. The room was very clean and really comfortable. The bar serves excellent real ale and the food, both in the evening and at breakfast, was top notch. I will definitely be staying thereon my next business trip.

My wife and I used to live 20 minutes (by car) away until 10 years ago. We used to visit the pub weekly for the excellent beer, food, welcome and friendly atmosphere. Our dog was also made very welcome. This 5 night bed and breakfast stay was arranged to catch-up with friends, neighbours and family. Walking in the Gwaelod was just as superb as it was 10 years ago. Beer, food, welcome and friendly atmosphere just the same. My wife, who is disabled, has a Registered Assistance Dog who was made very welcome along with all the many other dogs. We had a table booked every day in the cosy bar area and enjoyed some superb food and beer. I've been a CAMRA member for 30 years and the choice and standard of the beer was spot on. We had a very good choice for breakfast every day. Our room was very comfortable and easily accessible from the car park. The Gwaelod "team" looked after us very well and we felt really cared for. We hope to return in 2025. Ivor, Fran & Lucca woof woof

Very good real ale choice; good food; good rooms and spacious, including a fridge with real milk; friendly and helpful staff with good walks and spectacular views nearby. Took a walk down to the River Taff and discovered the history of the thermal spa. That's why I like coming to this place :-)

Good old fashioned Inn tucked away off the beaten track. Great location for Cardiff and attractions in the Vale of Glamorgan. Comfortable room with enormous bed! Excellent food with a good choice and interesting "specials" on the menu. Lots of local real ale and a modest but excellent wine list. Hearty breakfast. Staff were friendly and attentive.

Was invited to meet up with some old school friends from the 70s and the Inn was recommended - a fantastic recommendation! Stayed overnight on a Thursday, booked my table for evening meal on arrival for 6:15, taking into consideration waiting (just a few minutes) to be shown to my table, ordering a drink then food (excellent selection on the menu) I was served my meal at 6:40! And the pub was pretty full & busy too! All the staff were really friendly and welcoming The room was lovely, modern while retaining its original features, comfortable - and the fresh milk in the fridge for the complementary tea/coffee was a really nice touch. You need to pre-book your breakfast i.e. tick your selection on a menu the previous evening, again a good selection, but you might want to ask what’s included in the full Welsh Breakfast as it’s not itemised; there is a ‘notes’s text box so next time I’ll request no tomatoes! A really minor thing, you’ll need a pen or pencil to fill it out, fortunately I remembered I’d seen one in the boot of my car Highly recommended and looking forward to my next stay
