Hotel Avenida

I arrived early from my Camino. The lady on reception was absolutely wonderful, she gave me my room key and explained all about the hotel and told me some of the places to go for food, laundry. A really excellent first impression. Got to my room and it had everything I needed. Basic, but very clean, comfortable, comfy bed and fluffy pillows. The shower was excellent, just what I needed after a long walk. I can in the winter and the heating was lovely in the room, just what you need when it wet and you’ve been walking for hours. The hotel is very centrally located with lots of restaurants close by.

Easy check in,friendly staff,basic room but comfortable with all necessary facilities. Breakfast was fine,lots of bread,cheese & coffee.

I would never recommend this hotel, we arrived early in the morning and the girl at the reception attended us in a rude manner, we were doing the Camino de Santiago and we arrived around 9:30 in the morning because we left at 5:15 am from the hotel where we were staying in Arcade, we knew that the room was not going to be ready when we arrived at the hotel in Pontevedra because it was very early, for us there was no problem in waiting in fact we went to sit at the bar and ordered some things, but the girl apart from the group that was still in the lobby told her that we could not leave the next day so early to walk the path because it was dangerous, a wild boar could attack us and also we needed to go buy special vests to wear over our clothes on the path otherwise we would have to pay high fines, at that moment the group split up, one part got scared and the other didn't, so far we have been walking and leaving for 4 days at the same time and we had not had any problems, in all the jotels that we have stayed they have treated us with kindness and professionalism, we spoke to the travel agency to ask them why they had not told us that it was necessary to wear vests otherwise we would have to pay a fine as well as why they did not tell us that we could be attacked by wild boars on the road and they told us that it was not like the girl told us, I would really recommend the owners of the hotel to hire a professional person especially if it is the one in charge of receiving guests, that focuses on their work content and above all in being kind to guests, it is very nice to receive a good morning and a smile when you arrive somewhere and not create unnecessary conflicts and fears, we are adults we come through a travel agency with which we have traveled every year to different parts of the world and that made us all the necessary recommendations for the trip and we had no need to go through an uncomfortable moment for everyone receiving inadequate attention Upon arriving at the hotel, in addition to the girl who served us, she also created fear in the group. A truly unpleasant situation was created by this person.

The room was immaculate and the location is good but the breakfast was spartan and the bed had only one long pillow. I found that particular feature completely gimmicky and useless for a comfortable night's sleep. Worst night of the camino.

We had a very friendly welcome! Were able to ckeck in early, which we weren’t in many of the other hotels we stayed at. Liked their commitment to the planet. Useful handout with highlights of the town. Spacious room. Good breakfast. Walking distance to city is less that 15 minutes.

We had a well equipped room in this centrally located hotel, just outside the old town. The room only had one chair for a room intended for two. There's no outside space apart from a rather unattractive bar. The restaurant was also uninviting and the host encouraged us to seek dining elsewhere. Breakfast was poor and we quickly ate up and left. There seemed to be lots of house rules and we were pleased we were only staying one night. We're sure you can find better accommodation elsewhere.
