Hotel Eumesa

By far the worst hotel I found so far. It could have been good at one time (50 years ago) but the absolute neglect in its maintenance and updating make it deserving of a low rating. Counting groups among its majority clientele, it seems that its management absolutely does not care about the impression it leaves on its clients. Based on agreeing on a price with the wholesaler, they do not mind significantly lowering the level of their services: superficial cleaning, non-existent maintenance and the minimum expression in their breakfast (coffee, milk and pastries). For lunch and dinner they resort to catering, so you eat what there is or there is no alternative. In the words of their staff, they agree on the level of what they offer according to the price agreed with the operator. And there is no alternative. And since there is no other hotel there, as long as it doesn't fall down, it is what it is. The only thing that stands out is its location. Possibly now with the rise in the price of electricity they will stop offering the toaster for breakfast.

The first season of El Cuéntame was filmed in this hotel, the second season was already more modern than this hotel. Well located to do the Camino De Santiago and that's it, the rest look at the photos that I attached. Old, the bathroom smells bad, it was very cold, do not go in summer because there is no air conditioning, there was no hair dryer either. The bathroom is very disgusting. The hotel is clean, practical, correct and very close to the historic center of Pontedeume. The price is not excessive and having parking is a great advantage for all visitors. The breakfast at the hotel is great and all the hotel staff are most friendly and helpful. The bedrooms are spacious, more than usual in most hotels, with great views of the bridge and river. However, certain elements are a bit outdated, for example, the taps, finishes, etc., including in the corridor, since the floor at some point sank a bit when passing. We would stay here again if we return to Pontedeume.

The hotel is more like a hostel. It seems adequate to spend a night on the way to Santiago. At first, the furniture and especially the bathroom are very deteriorated. Feeling of neglect and total lack of cleanliness. I think they lack cleaners. One day they even forgot to make our room. Only the reception staff, friendly at all times, is saved. I am not talking about the meals because I think it was what was agreed with the travel agency, but of course it could be improved, especially breakfast. I would not go back.

We go almost every summer and the truth is that, although the hotel looks somewhat abandoned, last year we already saw that they were beginning to make improvements. Surely there is another hotel in the area with better rooms (hardly larger, because they are very spacious and with very large closets) and more services, but what they are not going to improve on is the staff they have. All the reception staff are 10 and that is why we continue to choose this hotel to spend my vacations.

Bastante antiguo, mobiliario obsoleto, del baño mejor no hablar. Rancio....rancio.....De lo viejo que está da aspecto de sucio. El buffet para desayunar muy escaso, solo bolleria y dos tipos de cereales, pan y mermelada y mantequilla, cero embutidos, nada de huevo ni frutas ....miserable totalmente ....deja mucho que desear este hotel . Lo único que tiene es su ubicación.
