It was a one night stay. The house is very old and beautiful. We stayed in a suite with a pyramid-shaped wooden ceiling. It would have been perfect if at 2am we hadn't woken up to a bat (a big one) that was repeatedly coming in and out of the cracks in the wooden ceiling, certainly in need of work! We spent the night awake without sleeping at all, with the bat flying around the room all night!!! As it is not a hotel, it does not have 24-hour service. I tried calling the numbers provided at the house and no one answered! Unbelievable! I've never been through a situation like this! And without any response or compensation from the house management who simply said that as we had a small dog, the bat was attracted to the dog!!!! Unprecedented!! What is certain is that attracted or not, the ceiling has cracks through which bats, or any other insects or crawling creatures can pass... I don't recommend it! Unless you like sleeping in a room with bats and who knows what else!
