Ponta Delgada Hotels with Airport pickup service

It was our first time on San Miguel and we can only recommend this hotel! 10 minutes from the airport, fantastic staff, central to everything and spacious, clean rooms. Everything was spotless, the staff at reception very attentive and helpful. We had to book in for breakfast, but that was no problem, if you don't want to book of avoid waiting, there is a café/breakfast place just outside on the left. It is central an perfect to explore Ponta Delgada and surroundings. It does not have a carpark should you rent a car but there is a carpark just up the road for 50p an hour. Definitely would use this hotel again.

The Caloura Hotel Resort impressed us all round. Super nice room with a great view of the sea from the balcony. Beautifully landscaped grounds all around with lots of flowers and flowering shrubs. About 15 minutes by car from Ponta Delgada, it is in a beautiful, quiet location, except for the merry chattering of seabirds at night. Very, very great breakfast buffet - my personal favorite the carob bread rolls, I have never eaten such delicious rolls! The evening buffet was too expensive for us at €28, because we stuck to the salads and desserts in the evening, the main courses were not to our liking, and the a la carte food was more recommendable. The staff is super friendly and helpful, the rooms are super clean! We will come back next year! 100 recommended!!! Das Caloura Hotel Resort hat uns rundum begeistert. Super schönes Zimmer mit toller Aussicht vom Balkon aufs Meer. Rundum schön angelegtes Gelände mit vielen Blumen und blühenden Sträuchern. Etwa 15 Autominuten von Ponta Delgada entfernt liegt es in schöner ruhiger Lage, bis auf das nächtliche lustige Geschnatter der Seevöglel. Sehr sehr tolles Frühstücksbuffet - Mein persönlicher Favorit die Johannesbrot Brötchen, noch nie habe ich so leckere Brötchen gegessen!!! Das Abendbuffet war mit 28€ uns zu teuer, weil wir uns Abends eher an die Salate und den Nachtisch gehalten haben, die Hauptgerichte waren nicht unser Geschmack, da war das Essen A la Carte eher zu empfehlen. Das Personal ist super freundlich und hilfsbereit, die Zimmer tipptopp sauber! Wir werden nächstes Jahr wiederkommen! 100 empfehlenswert!!!

A fabulous hotel, going through ownership changes when I stayed as some features are unfinished construction but no complaints. The views from every part of the hotel are beautiful. The bedroom was superb, the swimming pool was very nice and breakfast was amazing. The dinner was good but minimal on offer due to change of ownership. This will be a very very lovely hotel once it has been fully completed and maintained....defiantly worth going back to again in the future. The reception, restaurant and bar staff were very friendly and made my stay very welcoming.

We arrived after midnight for a quick overnight. Check in was done very efficiently by the front desk. Very friendly and pleasant. The room is a standard hotel room: clean, functional, comfortable. The walls are thin, though. We could here the coughs, conversations of the people next door. The breakfast was expansive and the staff were very efficient despite being swamped with guests. Overall a nice stay. Very close to the airport. It is a bit further away from the main tourist attractions.

After leaving our first accommodation after 2 nights of a 7 night stay because of road noise we found this gem of a hotel. The reception was very friendly and helpful. We had a lovely quiet room whist still being central to all the city offered. Breakfast was nice too. Thank you for all your help.

The front desk employees were exceptionally helpful. The gave good suggestions for restaurants and sites on the island. They even called a site to make sure they were open on a national holiday when most places were closed. The restaurant had a large selection of food choices on their breakfast and dinner buffets. We ordered Ala carte at dinner and the food was hot and freshly prepared. Not a lot of spice, but flavorful non the less. The location was a little away from town center and had no ocean views. Rooms were very clean and special requests were handled quickly.

I just returned from a three night stay at this hotel with my girlfriend and our teenage daughter. We have been countless times in S. Miguel as we consider it such a pleasant and beautiful island. This time we opted for a hotel outside the main towns and in fact we managed to do just that. At the same time it is only 20 minutes away from the airport and 15 minutes away from Ponta Delgada or Ribeira Grande, the two main towns. We already visited the nine islands of the Azores archipelago and always get a rental car at the airport (exception at Corvo Island). If you are staying in this hotel, it is paramount that you do the same. As to the hotel itself, we booked it only four weeks in advance on high season, thus we had to pay the full rate of the stay at that moment. Upon check-in on room 206, we were given two identical cards without any distinctive element, one to open the door and the other to insert into the slot for lightening. That is odd, generally, hotels give two identical keys to open the door and one of them, if necessary can be left on the slot when we are out. We were assigned a spacious accommodation with living room, bedroom and bathroom. We did not have sea view and the living room had lots of glass walls overlooking the adjacent condo. All those glasses made it very hot on the sun shining days and we had to keep the AC on during the day. The décor of the room was unstylish and lacking attention to details. The bedroom had a big closet but no clothes rail or hangers. Besides that, one of the doors of the closet could not be opened fully, because it bumped into the shelves that are installed as bedside tables. The safe was old style, that is to say, it closes with a key that we had to ask for at the reception at no charge, along with a cumbersome key ring that we had to take with us whenever we were out of the room. The living room had a well equipped kitchen, that we did not use but it was constantly patrolled by half a dozen ants. We had bought previously some good looking fruits and had to fill a big dish with water and in the middle of it we put a small dish with our fruit so that the ants weren’t able to cross the water in order to get to fruit island. The bathroom was very spacious and pleasant looking even if the washbasin was more stylish than efficient. This room lacked tremendously of a place to put one´s belongings (toothbrush, toothpaste, comb, electrical razor and so on). Amazingly no one foresaw the installation of a shelf. The social areas of the hotel such as the lobby are, again, unstylish, corridors have shabby carpeting. The room where breakfast is served has a view to an outside wall and lacks natural lightening. Breakfast itself has a reasonable variety of items, but by no means is it worth 12 euro per person per day, that in our case we were asked to paid in advance, precisely at the same moment we made the reservation. Nice quiet location (you need a car), good medium plus quality hotel, friendly staff. Satnav on first arrival may get confused (I mean satnav users, of course) by two close but unconnected branches of road having the same name – you have been warned ! Slightly uninspired food (you can have supper here including a Saturday buffet, but there are better restaurants within a short drive. Wine selection very poor). Breakfast buffet typical - good fruit, poor ‘fruit juice’, best bacon I had in half a dozen Azores hotels ... if you want proper coffee rather than instant you have to ask for it. Restaurant has outdoor seating for smokers. Would recommend overall.

The hotel is beautiful and has a very nice location in the center of the town and not too far from the marina at all. While each room is a little different in dimensions and layout, I found that it added to the charm of the building. We did have some trouble with the climate control (either being too hot or cold.) The restaurant in the hotel was absolutely delicious if a little more expensive than some of the other restaurants nearby. The reception staff were very helpful and available every time we needed something. My biggest complaint is not really with the hotel, but there are many beggars who would catch you on the way out of the door. Other than that, we had a pleasant stay.

So far the best hotel of this year's Azores trips. Beautiful, very clean room with view of the port. Great Spa! Good breakfast and extremely friendly staff. One point of criticism: like in so many hotels, there is no enough possibility to dry wet clothes. On the Azors it will keep it wet from above. And it would be nice if you could dry shoes and jackets.
