Melia Century Hotel

I booked a king size bed in a historical room. It was amazing. Gorgeous 20 foot ceilings in the bedroom and bathroom with a sky light privided space and natural lighting . I had a balcony looking onto a hisrorical landmark. Antiques everywhere adorned this quaint hotel. I felt like I was back in time 100 years. The photos on line did not do this hotel justice; here are some of mine. I would stay here again in a heart beat!

When we arrived to check in we were given a room that the bed was so worned out, we couldn't believe this room was assigned to us. My husband went to the lobby and told the receptionist and she placed us in another room that was much better, the bed was comfortable. We cant emphasize enough the need in these days that every rooms need a small refrigerator and a microwave. We appreciated the elegance of your Lobby and the very good service & good meal at the restaurant (B) at the Melia. This place, is a hotel not a motel, treat it like wise. Stay AWAY For this HOTEL the interior will fool you !!!! This property is refusing to refund me as this experience has ruined my anniversary on Valentine’s Day trip to Puerto Rico. My reservation was for four days three nights we checked out the next day due to being put in a room that was so outdated and dirty the hotel had no working elevator and we was placed on 3rd floor while having a injury to my foot taking five flights of stairs , no working hot water no internet or cable so if you turn on the TV it was black and was told no good rooms could be cleaned due to lack of working employee so front desk was also doing housekeeping duties and your left waiting for front desk for over a hour. They transferred us to the sister hotel The Fox across the street which was a cheaper hotel but we paid for a king size room but at the Fox we were given a dirty room that had a full size bed no hot water and bugs filled the bathrooms they changed us to two different rooms all were horrific and still no cable air internet. I have pictures and videos. I will never stay at either hotel owned by these folks and want my stay refunded for my stay, we checked out and the front desk keeps acting like they had to consult a manager which was never seen to give us a receipt. I was never given any paperwork to sign nor receipt for nothing. Never again.

Didn’t like that the air conditioner was so loud. No washcloth. No hot water and carpet/floor was dirty

Location is perfect! But the hotel is sadly outdated. The chairs around the pool were ripped and looked disgusting. Not inviting at all. The bathroom is smaller than a closet. Bed is super hard. No phone in room, no coffee maker, no hot water. You pay for the location.

I was a great location the room needs some upgrade, Bathroom leaking no extra pillos or blankets in the room. Elevator not working.

It is my third time to stay in this hotel. In the past 90 days I stay in other hotels during 30 nights. The lobby is nice with a bar and internal common area. The use of the lobby for a Bazar during a town celebration was excellent. The receptionist and other workers were very attentive with me an others clients, she look to support other hotel workers. But the manager in charge argues in front of 3 clients without personal touch. Need Human Resources skills to communicate. The room was clean in general but the air conditioning have leaks and the bathroom borders have dust. For us is very difficult to return.

This is an historical, beautiful building that can make the experience better with a very few details. We had no covers on our bed, just a thin flat sheet, not enough towels, and details like that that can be easily fixed. Lovely place!
