Property Description
Family traditional villa situated on a small hill 30 mt from the road and just 1 km to the centre of Pollença and 100 meters from the entrance of the town, so you don´t need to take the car. It has its own delightful terrace, garden, swimming pool and roofed BBQ with dining area. It has a homely ambience with original features of the Mallorcan countryside ancient life, beamed ceilings, terracotta floor tiles and open stone walls The accommodation is on two levels. In the first floor there is a spacious lounge, a dining room, a well equipped kitchen also equipated with a dish-machine with an antic fireplace and a bathroom. In the second floor you will find the three bedrooms (2 twin rooms and a double one) equipated with air-conditioning and another bathroom, all benefit from glorious views of the rolling countryside, the Serra de Tramuntana mountain and Puig de Maria. North Mallorca: The North of the island is where the Serra de Tramuntana mountains reach the highest peaks as Puig Major (1445 m), Massanella (1364 m.) and Puig Tomir (1102 m.). It is also where the Lluch Monastery lies, in a valley 500 m. above sea level, place of pilgrimage to see the Moreneta (a dark Madonna). The mountain skyline in Port de Pollença is breathtaking, with their unique shapes and colours. North Mallorca beaches are characterized by the rocky shores of the Serra de Tramuntana mountains, which hide beaches like Cala Sant Vicenç, Cala Bóquer, Cala Figuera and Cala Murta. Port de Pollença and Alcúdia are more family-oriented as they have long beaches with white sand, clear waters and nearby pine woods. One of the most gorgeous beaches in North Mallorca is the beach of Formentor, pictured on many postcards. Eat in Mallorca: As an island with fertile ground and a long tradition of cultivation of the land, our diet is based on pork, seafood, vegetables and large amounts of olive oil. You will easily find more authentic Mallorcan food in the less touristic areas. Some of our specialities you cannot miss are: - Pa amb oli. Is a staple of Mallorcan culture. It literally means 'bread and oil', but it usually involves some tomato as well. Normally we eat it with cheese, jamon serrano or even with some figs, as traditionally. - 'Sobrasada' is a Mallorcan pork salami-style sausage, with added red chilli pepper. - 'Tumbet' is layers of fried potato with aubergine, tomatoes, peppers and garlic. - 'Arroz brut' literally means 'dirty rice' and it is a vegetables and meat soup with a very thick and dark stock (that is why it seems to be dirty) - 'Ensaimada', a sweet, rolled pastry, is another famous Mallorcan speciality. You can find this easily in the bakery. Mallorcan wine: Wine making has been part of the culture of Mallorcan living for centuries. Similar to the French AOC designation, the ‘Denominacio d'Origen’ classification ensures the quality of Mallorcan wines. The main wine producing areas are: - Binissalem is the best known region in Mallorca for wine production. It is here that the re-birth of the industry began in the 1990’s. This wine is smooth and elegant, and is matured in oak barrels. - Pla and Llevant. is where the first vines were grown back in Roman times. Both single variety and blends are made here, with the Chardonnay, Moscatell, Moll, Macabeo and Parellada grapes taking centre-stage. - Serra de Tramuntana. The mountains create a micro-climate for vineyards in this region which means that the resulting wines are distinctive to this area. There are some vineyards in Pollença, called Mortixt.About pets:No pets allowed.Enquier before booking.About checkOut:Check out before 11:00 AM.About children:Children allowed: ages 0-17.About checkIn:Check in after 4:00 PM.About smoking:Smoking allowed: in designated areas.About events:No events allowed. Please, enquier before booking.

Amazing Villa!! A fabulous rustic villa!! Walking distance to Pollenca, but felt like it was in the country. Slight traffic noise, but was soon forgotten. The pool was gorgeous - perfect size, clean & very refreshing. Maria, the owner was so helpful and always on hand to answer questions. The outside space with sunbeds and dining / sitting area was perfect. We loved this villa and will definitely be back!

Week in Pollenca Maria and family were excellent, accommodating hosts. The house was well equipped for our week and we were very comfortable with good air conditioning, facilities and pool. The lemon tree was prolific! We walked easily into the town regularly and up the mount opposite for exercise, with beautiful views. We used a car to reach beaches and mountain walks too. Lovely stay thank you!

Not good We arrived at the villa and was immediately diss appointed to find the smell of cigarette smoke in the villa, we had to go out and buy some freshener and open all windows! The villa is rustic with potential to be nice as the outside space and pool is very pretty, but unfortunately everything is very dated and there is far to much furniture everywhere , even the towels have seen better days. And no linen or towel change in 10 days. 2 of us received electric shocks from the wiring in the first couple of days, which is in need of updating, and the beds were very uncomfortable! All of these issues were taken up with Maria who promised to get an electrician in on the Monday, we were there for 10 days nobody came. We were looking forward to a lovely holiday with the family and new granddaughter but unfortunately it wasn’t the comfortable stay we were looking forward to!

Pollenca Host very friendly and helpful. Outside space and pool were particularly good - lovely pool, very comfy seating and outside kitchen with bbq. Some noise from the road, but out of sight and views from the villa were lovely. It was great to be walking distance from the town. Comfortable bedrooms with air con. Hardly spent any time in the house!

Excellent holiday Excellent holiday with great accommodation, friendly owner and brilliant location. Two minor quibbles: 1. The directions on Vrbo are incorrect and take you to the neighbouring house. Added to that the driveway to the actual accommodation is very hard to spot especially in the dark. 2. We arrived to find no washing up liquid, sponges, dishwasher tablets etc so had to buy them ourselves. Having paid a lot of money for the accommodation I don’t think it is unreasonable that these items are left. Every tenant must have to buy them and the cleaners (or owner) must take the excess away at the end of every rental.
