Group check in for 14 rooms.. Called ahead. Were assured rooms would be ready for midday. Arrived at 1. Not a single room ready apparently out of the 14 booked. Were then told it would be 3pm despite requesting rooms to be given as and when they had been cleaned. It would seem in the 3 hours from 12 midday as promised not a single room could be made ready ?! Not one. So we waitied for another 3 hours....3pm came , and again, allegedly not a single room ready. Reception staff did not give one iota and responded to group leader with an attitude verging on utter rudeness. The leader would have got a more engaging conversation by talking directly to the wall it seems. Manager was asked for ..allegedly no manager on site. Really??! Finally got rooms at 4pm . All at once. ...so the request for rooms as and when available was clearly ignored along with the request for explaination as to why the agreed and pre arranged check in time was ignored. 14 hot tired people who had travelled from afar over night treated with disdain and utter disinterest. ..to the point of rudeness. The reception staff need urgent training in customer interaction skills. Havng got access to rooms finally, after a well needed post travel shower, using the facilities was somewhat too late in the day to get any real enjoyment out of them. This was a one night stay for a day off in a gruelling schedule, now spent for the most part in a hotel reception. I'd love to say the cleanliness of room was spot on...but sadly not. A ribbon over the loo saying 'sanitised' does not hide the previous occupant's left overs in the pan . Try flushing until its actually clean ??? In a colleagues room, a short barefoot walk to the shower collected a variety of dust, hair and debris on the feet...clearly sweeping the floor had been omitted. Another colleague , despite the already now 4 hr delay still had to wait outside their room while cleaning was completed. A walk around the "resort' proved totally uninspiring save for access to the sea, and a pool which a colleague said was actually lovely ...which is no doubt why many visit ...sadly the check in experience taints ones ability to apppreciate more simplistic set ups in the light in which one could feel positive about the whole experience Dinner. A good buffet spread, but sadly i found myself attached face first to the loo within 15mins of eating .....i can only assume an unexpected ingredient that triggered a known intolerance. I am usually excellent at avoiding the culprit...but sadly not today. Maybe some allergy advice next to the dishes would assist in avoiding this kind of thing ? Not the best experience for 35euro Check out was surprisingly smooth enough, but once again reception staff lack customer service skills. A 'how was your stay' would allow a guest to impart information that could improve the whole customer experience without having to resort to writing a less favourable review on trip advisor. That
