So didn't read reviews before I booked as I always believe everyone has different standards so I like to go in with an open mind. But 1 star is too much for this place. The owner rang me at 1pm to say the room was ready and provided instructions for key box. He sounded very helpful and pleasant. Upon entering the building the lingering smell of fried food was sickening this seem to remain for the whole 2 nights I stayed. Walking up the stairs to the room I have to say I don't think the carpet has seen a hoover or cleaner for years !!! I was on the 2nd floor room 8. The shower cubicle in the room itself was awful. Paint splashed all over the floor walls and ceiling. I took photos and sent to the owner to which he responded that a previous guest has left paint and they had tried to remove with bleach ! Even I know that bleach does not remove paint . So I messaged him back to say I thought it looked very unhygienic and would not be using as fortunate for me I had local gym membership and would shower there . 😅 when I pointed this out to him his response was that despite a deep clean they could not remove and had booked a plumber for next week. So why therefore was i not informed of this when he called me or even take the room off availability !!! I couldn't even bring myself to take my suitcase out of the car . So basically took the essentials and lived out of my car for the 2 nights. The bed was the only thing I used in the place. Not somewhere I have any intention of either staying or would recommend to anyone . Owners need to really think about cleaning and upgrading and not just sit counting their money each week. People are humans not animals to accept below substandard . I was not expecting the ritz but at somewhere clean and comfortable.

So I stayed at this BnB for a week here is my review or I guess you could call it a statement Do you want to relive your days as a chain smoker well if you do you will enjoy your stay here as the room and bedding stinks of it , do you want to relive the days when your kids would leave snot on the walls well then don’t worry you will find that here at the gallery guest house , do you like your room to be filthy after 3 so called deep cleans well then again you will love your stay here , do you like mould in your kettle well guess what you will love it here then , do you like to charge your phone let’s face it who doesn’t well just a warning if you do charge your phone the heat will absorb the smoke smell leaving your phone stinking, Okay now the comedy’s over let’s get to the point I really would not recommend staying here unless you have to like I did as going to bed every night was absolutely awful , the owner did 3 deep cleans and the room was still disgusting , no breakfast provided even though it was included with the room , other residents being loud at night it was just a awful experience that no amount of money would convince me to relive it I really would recommend never staying here , I would stay it’s probably just as bad a staying at home park homestay just minus the amount of drug ******* and alcoholics Very disappointed of my experience here

I meant to stay 5th to 7th of May. The owner called me direct 4 weeks before telling me that the room is not gonna be available due to a leak and he asked me to cancel and find something else. He said that he will refund the difference. Guess what, the moment I cancelled he stopped answering the phone or messaging. Before you are thinking of booking be aware that this can change. You cannot book with confidence and trust. Poor customer service

My first ever review, shame it's not going to be a good one....... im a seafarer, so im used to basic living but this dump was beyond bad. I stayed in room 5, a small sink in the room which was loose at the wall and im sure has been used my many an occupant as a toilet. Certainly smelt that way. Somehow they thought it would be a good idea to install a shower in the room. This makeshift cubical sits at the foot of the bed and is open top so all the steam goes into the room. At the bottom of the shower door, which could not close properly, it was tick with grime and general ming. I have detained ship's for highers standards than this place! Carpet was fevered in stains, I don't even want to think about what I was sleeping on.. Not entirely sure why this place has 5 stars. Possibly from a previous owner

Were in town for a music concert and were very pleased indeed with the decision to stay here. The room was on the top floor, a really great size, spacious and clean with private toilet/shower. The owner, Ekraj, was very friendly and helpful. The location was only a short walk to the main city centre and Plymouth Hoe park area. Parking is available but its first come first serve, however in the event the car park is full, there is other on street parking nearby. Would certainly recommend staying here if enjoying Plymouth for a few days.
