OYO The Barley House

This was genuinely one of the most beautiful places we have stayed at, it was perfectly clean & decorated beautifully (I felt like I was on a mini honeymoon) the owner made sure had everything we needed for our fantastic time at the property :)

Great comms from the host beforehand, welcomed us when we arrived and showed us the room and the workings etc. The room was clean and tidy, it included sky tv and wifi. Tea and coffee provided although only 2 tea bags and 2 milks, no doubt you could ask for more. Decor dated and a bit mixed but that is a personal thing and shouldn't detract from the stay or the review, it won't. Pillows could be better, four provided, two rock hard. Bed very comfy, a good nights sleep was had by the two of us. Plenty of hot water, shower electric so no issues there. No dedicated parking, if you lucky you may be able to park outside but if not, you should find a space on one of the side streets. No weekend restrictions. Key for the front door, no restrictions. Easy walk into town, slight rise on the return. The Woodpile pub, about 5 minutes away was very accommodating. Tesco Express near the pub.

Unprepossessing from the outside, but a friendly welcome and very quiet for a location 10 mins walk from the centre. We had a good-sized room with nice Victorian touches in the decor, comfortable bed and very modern bathroom. A couple of small glitches - bulb missing from light and provisioning of the tea/coffee tray could have been better. Would stay again.
