We had a wonderful visit to Plettenburg Bay and stayed in the beautiful setting of The Robberg Beach Lodge for 4 nights with our two teenagers. We had lovely beach facing suites which were ideal for us, lots of room and quiet despite being above restaurant we had no noise. To be able to watch sunrise from your bed or balcony was a highlight. As was breakfast on the deck. I could of sat there for hours watching the ocean, the sun shining even on a winters day and watching the dolphins jump in the waves was something special. The staff were lovely and our kids loved that they could have juice and a muffin any time in the bar where they could also play jenga and chill. There is great choices for restaurants a few km from the lodge and your a skip over the road to the beach. We enjoyed daily walks and did the big loop on the nature reserve at Robberg. Its a challenging walk but worth it one of the highlights of our holiday. The rooms were wonderful but the bathrooms were quite dated, without doubt they need upgrade. We sadly had a theft in one of our rooms which was very upsetting but our teen had forgotten to put in the safe, but the manager rectified this situation promptly. I would recommend this lodge overall. I don't feel one persons actions reflected the rest of the staffs attentiveness and kindness.

Your location is perfect. The rooms were spacious and had all that we required for a short stay. Breakfast was visually exciting and delivered the taste to match. All the staff were well trained and showed a sense of commitment to ensuring we had a great stay.Whales in the bay was a bonus, and will return.

We stayed in a sea view suite, which is the most expensive category and were happy with it (except for the poor wifi connectivity in our room). Your overall experience may be quite different if you choose to book a cheaper room, as seen in the mixed bunch of reviews this property receives. The breakfast was the other thing that let us down. Maybe the cook that morning was having a bad day because the omelette we ordered was dry and quite tasteless. The staff were lovely though, very warm and friendly and made up for the overall experience. I would have given this property an average rating if not for the staff and service.

A very charming hotel, breakfast and dinner very good, staff very attentive, location in front of the beach, but rooms very far from one another, lots of walking sometimes inconvenient when it rains which it did. I had to go up and down about 17 steps each time with a torn right knee meniscus - only inconvenience.

Just recently stayed here with friends that we met from Australia, i booked this holiday and as part of it we stayed at this hotel for two nights . I felt that this hotel let me down and it was very embarrassing to be honest. Firstly the staff were great and the breakfast was pretty decent. It was classed as a 5 star hotel and even had a plaque on the reception wall stating so! Far from it , this place needed a makeover especially the rooms they were dated, old and not that clean. The pictures of the hotel on the website are very misleading. Tiny little pool , pretend bar of which when i asked for a Bacardi and coke they did not have one. We had a light lunch after a walk and it was a poor menu and poor meals when served. Overhaul i would rate it 2 stars at the best. Overhaul a huge disappointment to our two week adventure.

Stayed in a garden room by the pool. Unfortunately the bathrooms were a bit tired and the doors and windows did not block out any sound. Hence we were woken every morning when the staff arrived and started tending to the gardens. We had problem with ants in our room. The staff are very friendly and the breakfast was good. The hotel is right by a lovely beach

I expected a lot more from this hotel. I felt accommodation was basic to be honest and would not recommend if someone had any type of mobility issue as there is a huge amount of steps. The accommodation we stayed in was grubby, floors were dirty and bathroom was very old and needed to be updated. We had trouble with ants in our room. Terrace area was badly in need of a power wash. Location is right across from the beach which is beautiful. Food was nice but not anything great. The area is beautiful and worth going to.
