Not safe for children. We were assigned a room that had a balcony with a big gaps between the balcony railings and was not safe for our 4 year old. We went for our anniversary and had made a request for special arrangement which was not accommadated. Also, any of our requests were not accommodated as we booked through a 3rd party, *******, perthe staff. Had webooked directly, they would have taken care of our requests.
Property was great, but staff and our check in process and experience could have been much better

We love staying at El Manglar. Its so close to the beach making it super easy to walk to go surfing or spend time in the gorgeous beach of Playa Grande.

The staff are amazing and are very knowledgeable and helpful for booking tours and giving info on local attractions. The property and rooms are immaculate and modern. There is so much to do within walking distant. Highly recommend.

Wonderful stay… so close to beach and pool, hammocks were great. only complaint is not enough hooks in room since no closet and our wifi in room was hit or miss.

Awesome Hotel!
What a great little hotel! The staff at reception (Yorya, J-J, and Andrea) were super-friendly and helpful, providing information and booking me on 2 tours. The pool was lovely and I appreciated the shared kitchen. I loved the hammocks and hammock swings! It's a 2 min. walk to the spectacular beach, and watching the sunset was a highlight for me. It was definitely more difficult to get around as a solo traveller without a car, but I felt safe walking the beach and taking the water ferry to and from Tamarindo. I was not a fan of the hotel's restaurant (located at the sister location the Cantarana) when I ate there twice, but the two other nearby restaurants (1-3 min.walk) were quite yummy!

Our stay at this hotel was amazing. The entire staff were incredibly knowledgeable, professional and very quick to respond to all of our questions and needs. The hotel was very clean, comfortable and conveniently located steps from the beach. The hotel has its own clean private trail through the jungle leading straight to the sandy beach. One day we saw howler monkeys in the trees above us on the trail. We will be back to Hotel El Manglar for sure!
